Aoki Gets "First Aces of the Tournament," Eliminates Burbach

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Mikiyo Aoki
Mikiyo Aoki

Loren Burbach moved all in from under the gun for 200,000. Action folded to Elizabeth Ethridge who made the call in the hijack.

Mikiyo Aoki was on the button and calmly slid in a full stack worth 500,000.

"Give him some protection," said Ethridge, who folded {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} face up.

Loren Burbach: {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Mikiyo Aoki: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

Aoki was recently telling the table how she has yet to get aces this tournament. She got them at a perfect time, the {j-Spades}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} eliminated Burbach and gave Aoki the pot.

Near the same time, John Reading was seen heading toward the payout desk after being eliminated as well.

Ethridge Gets Aces Again, Moen the Victim This Time

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Chris Moen
Chris Moen

Mikiyo Aoki opened to 55,000 from under the gun. Action folded to Chris Moen on the button who moved all in for 315,000.

"How much is it? asked Elizabeth Ethridge in the small blind. "I call," she said.

Aoki smiled and let her cards go.

Chris Moen: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Elizabeth Ethridge: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Moen ran into number one and needed lots of help. The flop came out {6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, not offering much. The turn was the dangerous {q-Hearts}, though, bringing in another backdoor flush possibility that Ethridge knew too well from a recent hand. The river {q-Diamonds} was a blank, though, and Ethridge won the pot that sent Moen home.

Klassen and Rail Win Race to Eliminate Himmelspach

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Klassen, Bohn, and Pups
Klassen, Bohn, and Pups

Action picked up after Kitkat Klassen had opened and Chad Himmelspach moved all in. Klassen made the call and the two were off to a runout. Klassen had Himmelspach slightly covered, but the pot was crucial to both of them.

Chad Himmelspach: {8-}{8-}
Kitkat Klassen: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

The flop looked good for Himmelspach on the {5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. The turn changed that, though, when the {j-Clubs} hit. The {k-Spades} river gave Klassen two pair to take down the pot and eliminate Himmelspach.

Ben Wiora opened to 45,000 in middle position before Keith Lauder three-bet all in from late position to 235,000. Action folded back to Wiora who made the call.

Keith Lauder: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Ben Wiora: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Lauder needed help to stay alive, but the {a-Hearts}{5-Spades}{q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} offered no such help and Wiora stacked more while Lauder was left with nothing.

Wilshire Eliminates Bohn From the Big Blind

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Blake Bohn
Blake Bohn

Blake Bohn moved all in for 118,000 from late position. Action folded to Beau "Don K. Nado" Wilshire in the big blind who thought for a bit.

"It's 118,000," said Bohn. "Soon to be 240,000," he predicted.

"I don't think I can fold," said Wilshire, who made the call.

"You have a king, right?" asked Bohn.

Blake Bohn: {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Beau "Don K. Nado" Wilshire: {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

"Eight five? You can't fold eight five for 100k?" asked Bohn.

Either way, they were off to a runout. The {q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs} was safe for Bohn. However, the {5-Clubs} turn vaulted Wilshire into the lead. He stayed there on the {10-Spades} river that sent Bohn to the payout line.

Rodney Colson
Rodney Colson

Action picked up on the flop of a heads-up pot between Rodney Colson on the button and Chad Himmelspach in the big blind. With about 70,000 in the pot, the board showed {j-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}.

Himmelspach checked to Colson who bet 55,000. Himmselpach went for the check-call line.

The turn brought the {9-Hearts} and Himmelspach checked again. Colson moved all in for 139,000. Himmelspach thought for about 30 seconds before making the call.

Rodney Colson: {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Chad Himmelspach: {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Colson turned the nuts and needed to avoid full house outs for Himmelspach's flopped two pair. The river was clean and Colson got the double.

Rodney Colson
Rodney Colson

Dan "DQ" Hendrickson moved all in from middle position for 118,000. Rodney Colson didn't take long to move all in for about 300,000 on the button. The rest of the table folded and cards were turned over.

Dan "DQ" Hendrickson: {a-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Rodney Colson: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Neither player improved on the {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{j-Spades} runout and Colson's ace high was good enough to eliminate Hendrickson.

Nuwwarah Gets River Value From Estes

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Nuwwarah and Estes
Nuwwarah and Estes

Action began on the flop in a heads-up pot between Mo Nuwwarah and Mike Estes. The flop showed {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{k-Hearts}.

Estes checked from middle position and Nuwwarah bet 16,000 directly on his left. Estes made the call.

The turn brought a {9-Clubs} and both players checked.

On the river {k-Diamonds}, Estes checked again. Nuwwarah bet 45,000 on the double-paired board. After some thought, Estes made the call.

Nuwwarah turned over {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}. Estes chuckled and showed {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts} to show he had been pipped as the early pot went to Day 1b's chip leader, Nuwwarah.
