The Final Flight of The MSPT $1,600 Main Event Begins Today

At 11:10 a.m., the final flight of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) $1,600 No-Limit Hold'em begins at The Venetian Resort, Las Vegas. It is the last remaining chance for the players to get a piece of the $2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The first flight ended with 34 players bagging for the end of the day with Mike Hack leading with 726,000, and the second flight saw 60 players finishing up for the day and Josh Reichard leading the way with 769,000. With 685 entrants total, today’s flight not only looks to be the biggest flight, but may in fact double the size of the field.

Players who’s luck did not fair well in the other two flights are expected to enter today in hopes to win. Kyna England, Jerry Yang, Dan Bekavac, CJ Peake, among others were unable to bag in their first outings in the tournament and will look once more for success in the field today.

The players will begin with 30,000 in starting chips with blinds beginning at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. The blind levels will last 40 minutes each, with 10-minute breaks occurring after every 3 levels. Late registration will close after level 9, where a 60-minute dinner break will follow. The players will play down to 12.5% of the field, or a full 15 levels, whichever comes first.

Mackenzie Sends One Home Early

One player called in early position and in middle position, another player made it 700. In the cutoff, Andrew Mackenzie made it 2,500 and a player in the small blind moved all-in for 16,000 which folded out all players except Mackenzie who called.

Action was picked up on the turn between the small blind and Ori Hasson in the big blind.

The board read and the small blind bet 3,000 which Hasson called.

The river came a and the small blind bet once more, this time to the tune of 5,600 which Hasson thought about briefly before tossing in the call. The small blind turned over and Hasson turned over for a pair of nines which was good for the pot.

The flop came out and Bickley checked to his opponent who bet 4,300 which Bickley called.

The rolled off on turn and Bickley checked once more to his opponent who bet 13,000 which Bickley called once more.

Bickley checked the river and his opponent moved all-in for 25,200 which Bickley gave some thought before calling.

Lonis Straightens Out

Jesse Lonis raised in early position to 2,500 and on the button, his opponent three-bet to 8,500, folding out all other players besides Lonis who called.

The flop of saw Lonis check to the button who bet 5,600, which Lonis responded too by check-raising to 11,200 which the button called.

The turn saw Lonis lead out for a size of 4,300 and his opponent called.

Before the river even peeled off the deck, Lonis moved all-in for his last 13,400 and after some deliberation the button called. Lonis turned over for a turned straight which was good against his opponent's and Lonis secured a full double up through his opponent.
