Borick Takes Another Shot

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Robert Borick
Robert Borick

Robert Borick made a deep run in Day 1a of the MSPT Venetian Poker Bowl IV but fell short of bagging chips. Borick is back in action today and recently took a pot of nearly 65,000.

Borick raised from early position to 1,000 and was snap re-raised by the player on his direct left to 3,500. Borick didn't hesitate to call and the flop came {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

Borick checked his action to his neighbor, who again put out a bet of 3,500.

Borick shook his head, not liking what came on the flop, and slowly folded his cards.

Goetz Takes A Pot From Affleck

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Jon Goetz
Jon Goetz

The pot held 6,000 and the board showed {9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} before Jon Goetz bet 3,500 from the small blind position. Matt Affleck was in middle position called the bet from Goetz, which brought about the {j-Diamonds} on the river.

Goetz again led with a be, this time 6,000, into Affleck. Affleck hesitated for a few moments before slowly dropping chips to call the bet.

Goetz verbally asked, "What do you have?" before slowly turning over {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}.

Affleck shook his head slowly before throwing his cards into the muck.

Looney Triples Up

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Devin Looney
Devin Looney

The board read {q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{10-Clubs} and the players in the hand were ready for action. Before a turn card was shown, three players including Devin Looney were all-in.

Opponent 1: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Opponent 2: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Devin Looney: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

With just under 75,000 in the pot, everyone at the table held their breath to see who would be the new table chip leader.

The {3-Hearts} turn and {k-Clubs} river didn't improve either opponent and Looney was pushed the large pot.

Five players were still in the hand with a board showing {a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{7-Spades}.

MSPT champ Jason Seitz was in the big blind position and put out a bet of 1,800. The player to his left called before another player raised to 4,500 from middle position. There were two folds before Seitz made the call. The player caught in the middle decided to throw his cards in the muck.

River: {j-Spades}

Seitz didn't hesitate after the river card and pushed forward a stack totaling 6,100. His opponent to the left made the call and saw the bad news.

Jason Seitz: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}

Seitz made a runner-runner flush while his opponent paused before chucking his cards to the muck.
