Karp Draws First Blood

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

After losing a small pot to Ryan Franklin when Franklin flopped a set of threes, the two would battle again on the very next hand with Franklin opening, Karp shoving, and Franklin calling. Karp was in great shape for the double with {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} as Franklin was dominated with his {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}.

Franklin would pick up a straight draw when the flop and turn came {10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{J-Spades} but the river was the {J-Clubs} and Karp staved off elimination.

The Final Three are all Coming Back Next Year

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

With the top two players getting $5,000 packages to Aruba next year for the 2015 PPC World Championship, the final three decided to pull $5,000 out of the remaining prize money to ensure all three could come back next year. $3,000 was taken off of first and $1,000 each off of second and third. And with that, all three will be back here next year for some more poker fun in the sun.

Ryan Franklin Eliminated in 3rd Place ($31,194)

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Ryan Franklin - 3rd place
Ryan Franklin - 3rd place

Steve Karp folded the button and Aristoteles Neto limped in from the button. Ryan Franklin raised to 75,000 and Neto was quick to announce all in. The short-stacked Franklin didn't think too long, maybe 10 seconds, before calling. Franklin had {K-Spades}{Q-Spades} and was behind the {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} Neto held.

The flop came {J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and Neto started changing "no king, no queen" as the dealer put out the {5-Clubs} on the turn.

"No paint," pleaded Neto and the dealer obliged with the river {A-Hearts}. Neto let out a loud "yes!" and clapped his hands. Franklin shook Karp and Neto's hand, eliminated in third place for $31,194. The two remaining players are taking a brief break with Neto holding a 2:1 chip lead.

Small Save Made

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

The two remaining players have agreed to pay second $50,000 instead of the $43,601 it would have gotten.

Karp Doubles

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

After getting grinded down a bit, Steve Karp moved all in over the top of Aristoteles Neto's opener with {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Neto was in a gambling mood and made the call with {J-Spades}{6-Spades}.

"Jack one time," Neto said. It was anything but a jack though as the flop came with three diamonds to give Karp the nut flush and ultimately the pot and double up.

Karp Takes Control

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

We didn't catch the action but all the chips were in the middle on a board of {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{A-Spades} with Aristoteles Neto holding {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for aces and eights with a ten kicker. Karp, however, had flopped a full house with {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Neto was drawing to an eight or ace on the river. The dealer slowly turned the river card over and it was the {Q-Diamonds} and Karp has now seized control of the heads up battle with 2,700,00 in chips to Neto's 750,000.

Neto Doubles

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Steve Karp moved all in from the small blind and down to his last 470,000 Aristoteles Neto made the call with {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}. He was in great position to double up as Karp had {K-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and after the flop of {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} only a miracle would knock him out.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and the river was the {3-Clubs} and Neto doubled up to 940,000.
