Tsang Sent to the Rail by Sass

Level 3 : 0/0, 2,000 ante
Elton Tsang
Elton Tsang

Elton Tsang moved all in for 89,000 after a limp from Wai Kin Yong. Action folded to the button where Alan Sass called and Yong folded.

Alan Sass: {a-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Elton Tsang: {A-Spades}{7-Hearts}

Both players flopped a piece on the {K-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} board but the turn was the {10-Clubs} and the river was the {9-Clubs} and Sass's queens would hold up to earn him the pot and the knockout. Tsang was left without any reload chips after the elimination and he was sent to the rail.

Ivey Keeps His Microphone

Level 4 : 0/0, 2,000 ante

Andrew Robl limped with {J-Spades}{10-Clubs} under the gun and Phil Ivey shoved for 66,000 from the middle of the table, holding {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}.

Robl paused to process his decision and Ivey looked at him. "He's got a dangerous hand," Ivey said, smiling.

Robl burned a timebank chip and then made the call.

The {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop was disastrous for Ivey. "That's not good for me," he observed.

But the {A-Diamonds} turn put him back in the game as he spiked a flush draw. "Hold on!" Ivey said.

And he got there on the {8-Diamonds} river to find a way to escape from trouble.

"I can keep my microphone on," he said, celebrating the double up in his own way.

Arnaud Doubles Through Patgorski

Level 4 : 0/0, 2,000 ante
Arnaud Romain
Arnaud Romain

With about 90,000 in the pot already, Gabe Patgorski checked over to Romain Arnaud on a board showing {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. Arnaud put out a bet of 175,000 moving all in. Patgorski dropped into the tank. He thought for one full time bank, forced to give up an extension before calling.

Romain Arnaud: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}
Gabe Patgorski: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

Arnaud had flopped a straight with a redraw to a royal flush and that left Patgorski drawing pretty slim, looking for a chop to take back half the pot.

The river was the {K-Spades} though and that would seal the double for Arnaud who moved over 400,000 chips while Patgorski was left with around 420,000.

Ivey Doubles Up

Level 4 : 0/0, 2,000 ante

Under the gun, Marius Torbergesen limped with {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}, Phil Ivey overlimped in the cutoff with {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Chan Wai Leong raised to 25,000 on the button with {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. Torbergesen called and Ivey back-shoved for 134,000. Chan got out of the way and Torbergesen put Ivey at risk as Ivey was on his last bullet of the first entry. Ivey, however, managed to spin his way up as the board of {6-Clubs}{K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{A-Clubs} secured a double for him.

Yong Can't Bluff the River

Level 4 : 0/0, 2,000 ante

Wai Kin Yong opened to 16,000 from under the gun and Elton Tsang and Keneth Kee both called.

The flop was {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Yong led out for 22,000. Tsang folded but Kee called.

On the {7-Clubs} turn, Yong led again, betting 57,000. Kee called once more.

The river was the {6-Spades} and Yong checked. Kee checked behind. Yong showed down his {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for king-high but it was no good as Kee was holding {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for two pair.

This prompted a groan and a laugh from Tsang.

"What's wrong?" Yong asked.

"King-high and you don't bet river?" Tsang asked.

"I can't rep anything," Yong said. "I raised under the gun."

Leow Rivers a Lucky Double Through Ivey

Level 4 : 0/0, 2,000 ante

Phil Ivey limped in under the gun with {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and Chan Wai Leong and Andrew Robl overlimped before Ivan Leow checked with {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades} on the button.

Ivey fired 10,000 on the {Q-Clubs}{A-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and only Leow called with a gutshot.

The {6-Diamonds} turn gave the bottom pair to Leow and Ivey checked. Leow bet 20,000 and Ivey check-jammed for 82,000 effective. Leow made the call despite knowing he was likely behind.

The river was, however, the {9-Spades} and Leow caught two pair on the river to score a lucky double through Ivey.

Cao Dusted by Katz

Level 4 : 0/0, 2,000 ante
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Action limped to the button where Rui Cao raised to 29,000. Action folded back to Cary Katz and he moved all in for roughly 250,000, enough to cover Cao. Action folded back to Cao and he called, putting himself at risk.

Rui Cao: {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Cary Katz: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

The board ran out {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades} and Katz made a pair of aces, allowing him to take down the pot and move over 440,000 chips. Cao cashed in his last reload bullet, but was eliminated from the tournament shortly after that.

Leow Crippled by Torbergesen

Level 4 : 0/0, 2,000 ante

On the turn reading {K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, Ivan Leow checked with {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Phil Ivey fired 40,000 with {K-}{Q-}. Marius Torbergesen called in the cutoff with {9-Spades}{8-Spades} and Leow countered with a check-shove worth 196,000. Ivey released his hand and Torbergesen called with the boat, having only 8,000 fewer than Leow. Torbergesen claimed the big double when the {6-Hearts} hit the felt and improved to almost 500,000 in chips. Leow was crippled to 8,000.

Robl Outflips Ivey

Level 4 : 0/0, 2,000 ante
Andrew Robl
Andrew Robl

Andrew Robl got his last 77,000 into the middle with {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and he was up against Phil Ivey with {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}.

"Who's the favorite?" Ivey asked and Robl said that ace-queen was sligthly ahead.

But this time the jacks would be the best hand on the river with the board rolling out {7-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}.

Ivey's stack was halved to 77,000 while Robl continued with 152,000.
