Chan Doubles Through Badziakouski

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Wai Leong Chan
Wai Leong Chan

Richard Yong raised to 110,000 holding {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and Mikita Badziakouski called holding {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. Sergio Aido called with {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} on the button and Chan Wai Leong was in the small blind with {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}. He raised to 450,000. Yong folded and action was back on Badziakouski. He called. Aido folded.

The flop was {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Chan continued with a bet of 475,000. Badziakouski thought for a bit before he called.

It was the {6-Diamonds} on the turn and Chan moved all in for 1,205,000. Badziakouski dropped into the tank and got a count of the shove. He thought for a while then he decided to call with his flush draw and ace-high, putting Chan at risk.

The river was the {4-Spades} and that meant that Chan would double up to over four million leaving Badziakouski with just over a million.

Sergio Aido Eliminated in 6th Place (HK$6,490,000)

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Sergio Aido
Sergio Aido

Sergio Aido had {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} in the cutoff and he limped. Sam Greenwood overlimped in the small blind with {Q-Spades}{9-Spades} and Jason Koon peeled the {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} in the big. Koon raised to 300,000 and Aido ran into disaster, shoving for 1,375,000. Koon looked him up and Aido was at risk with a dominated hand.

Aido was drawing almost dead when the {7-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop appeared and the {3-Spades} turn sealed his fate. The {6-Spades} completed the board and Aido left the final table in sixth place for a HK$6,490,000 payday ($826,858).

Yong Calls Down Greenwood with Ace-High

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Sam Greenwood raised on the button holding {J-Diamonds}{9-Spades} to 100,000. Jason Koon was in the small blind with {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and he called. Richard Yong was in the big blind and he called with {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}.

The flop was {Q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and action checked around. On the {10-Diamonds} turn, action checked to Greenwood again and this time, picking up a straight draw, he put out 125,000. Koon folded and action was over to Yong. He called.

The {2-Hearts} was the river and Yong checked once more. Greenwood decided to put out a bet of 300,000 and this time Yong would call. His ace-high was good and he would rake in the pot.

Right Time to Fold a Pretty Hand

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Mikita Badziakouski picked up {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} under the gun and he raised to 100,000. The action folded to big blind Richard Yong who peeled {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}. Yong paused for a moment and then jammed for 1.06 million effective. Badziakouski sighed, noting that he had a pretty hand.

"I should've gone all in in the first place," he said while laying his hand down. Fortunately for him, he chose the other option and that helped him reduce the damage to the minimum.

Koon Blasts Big Bets With Flopped Set

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Jason Koon
Jason Koon

Jason Koon raised to 115,000 in the first position, holding {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}. He earned a call from Sam Greenwood who defended {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} in the big blind. Koon flopped a set on {2-Hearts}{K-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Greenwood check-called a bet of 80,000.

Greenwood picked up a flush draw on the {J-Hearts} turn and he checked again. Koon opted to fire an overbet, making it 515,000. Greenwood matched the bid.

They saw the {J-Diamonds} hit the fell and Koon finished with deuces full. Greenwood checked to him and Koon used a time extension before making his turn. He slid in a huge bet of 1,250,000. Greenwood faced a tough decision as a call would cost him about two-thirds of his remaining stack. He was able to escape, sending his cards into the muck.

Jason Koon made it 110,000 in the first position with {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades} and Richard Yong called with {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} on the button.
