Antona Busts Harkes

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Peter Harkes
Peter Harkes

Only one former Unibet Open winner remains as Peter Harkes was just eliminated. The action had folded to the Dutchman and he slid his big chips forward out of the small blind, making a raise to 70,000 with little behind. Pierre Antona moved all in and Harkes called it off with the {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}.

Antona's {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} immediately found help on the {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Spades}{J-Hearts} and that was it for Harkes.

The Field Shrinks Further

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Easy come, easy go for Ian Simpson as the Brit is riding a roller coaster early on Day 2. After just having lost quite some chips not long ago, he raised the button and then called the three-bet shove of Bogdan Petru Petrascu for 49,000.

Once we saw there was a showdown, it was already too late and the board and all but the {K-Spades}{10-Spades} of Simpson rushed into the muck. The Romanian apparently had {K-}{8-} and didn't find any help anymore. Same applies for another three players that busted in the past 10 minutes.

Eichhardt Busts on the Feature Table

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Peter Eichhardt
Peter Eichhardt

Julien Sitbon was the open raiser and Peter Eichhardt three-bet to 21,000 with his short stack to make his hand look stronger. He had to call the four-bet shove with the {3-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Sitbon had the best of it with the {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}. The board ran out {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and the Swede will most likely participant in the High Roller event later on.

Samoylenko Busts to Hefner

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

One Swede had to go in Petter Sundin, another is still thriving. David Hefer had raised to 10,000 and then rather quickly called the shove of Vitaliy Samoylenko from one seat over in the button. Hefner had the {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and the Ukrainian was in good shape with his {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}.

That was until the flop fell {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, giving the Swede two pair. Neither the {2-Clubs} turn nor the {3-Diamonds} river changed anything and that was it for Samoylenko.

Clicking Buttons

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Philip Fjaestad opened the button for 13,500 and Johan Goslings shoved out of the big blind for massive 105,000 to see a snap-call by the Swede with {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts} for about one third of his stack. Goslings was in good enough shape with the {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, but the {6-Spades}{J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} board ran out in favor of Fjaestad.

Peter Astrum had less luck, the countryman of Fjaestad busted almost at the same time.

Zammataro and Jarvinen Out

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

It seems that the players tend to bust two at a time, on different tables, as this happened once again just now. Tapio Jarvinen had most of his chips in a 220,000 pot with jacks versus queens and then failed to improve with {A-}{J-} versus pocket sixes according to our blogger colleague Juhani from Finland.

And then, Nicolas Zammataro open-shoved the small blind for what looked like 13 big blinds. Karl Stark asked for a count but then saw how much it was to call before the dealer had counted it fully.

Zammataro: {Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Stark: {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}

The board ran out {J-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{J-Spades}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and the ace kicker won the pot for Stark.

Fanucci on Tilt and Out

Level 14 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Karl Stark opened from the button to 14,500 and then had to call the shove of Christine Fanucci with the {K-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, as the Frenchwoman was down to only 40,000 in chips. Fanucci held the {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} but the board ran out {8-Hearts}{K-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades}. She definitely wasn't a happy camper on the way out.
