Unibet Open London Final Table
Unibet Open London Final Table

The final day of the 2016 Unibet Open London Main Event is about to kick off at the Victoria Casino in half an hour with the final nine players out of a total field of 418 entrants will be battling it out until a winner is declared.

The excitement at the Victoria Casino is growing to see who will have their name etched in poker history as the latest Main Event winner and bring home the top prize of £62,000 with all players already guaranteed a £6,300 payday.

France's Julien Rouxel kicks off the action on the final table in the lead heading with 2,785,000 in chips with two other players very close on his tail. Rouxel's fellow countrymate Nicolas Cardyn currently resides in second place with 2,424,000, while it is United Kingdom's David Shallow in third place with 2,384,000.

Play will resume on Sunday at 12 p.m. local time, however, the PokerNews Live Reporting team will begin coverage one hour later at 1 p.m. so we are not spoiling the action for those following the live stream. Blinds will resume at 12,000/24,000 with an ante of 4,000 for a few minutes before going up to 15,000/30,000 with an ante of 5,000.

Benjamin Lebor Announces the First All-in of the Day

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Nicolas Cardyn so far has been involved in the first three hands of the day. He starts off the action by raising with {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} to 55,000. Julien Rouxel with {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} calls behind before Benjamin Lebor announces, "I am all-in" for 514,000 with {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}. Cardyn snap folds and after a little thought Rouxel also tosses his hand into the muck.

Bhavin Khatri opens the action for 62,000. The action folds around to the short-stacked Jin Hui who calls from the big blind.

Both players opt to check on a flop of {6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. Action picked up when the {J-Hearts} hit the turn with Khatri leading out for 76,000. Hui thinks for a minute before declaring himself all-in for his remaining 282,000 chips. Khatri quickly calls and the players turn over their cards.

Hui: {J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Khatri: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

Khatri's set is no match for Hui who is drawing dead after getting all his chips in the middle. The board completes with a {J-Spades}. While this gives Hui a set of trips, he is well over-matched by Khatri's boat.

Hui collects £6,300 for his 9th place finish. The remaining eight players are now all guaranteed a payout of £8,400.

Short Stack Akos Gergely Wins a Flip to Double-Up

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Julien Rouxel raises the action to 65,000 from middle position with {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. David Shallow calls behind with {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} in position from the button. Benjamin Lebor thinks and folds from the small blind with {A-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} before Akos Gergely snap announces he is all-in with {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for his remaining 426,000 chips. Julien Rouxel calls, and Shallow gets out of the way.

Things look bleak for Gergely as Rouxel flops the world with the dealer turning over {7-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}. However, his tournament was saved when the {9-Clubs} spiked the turn. The {8-Diamonds} on the river was of no help to Rouxel, doubling up Gergely.
