Clinkscales River Bet Takes it Down

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

We get to the table with a board of {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and a bet of 2,400 in front of Rex Clinkscales lone opponent. Clinksclaes made the call and his opponent would check to him on the {4-Spades} river. Clinkscales thought for a moment and made a bet of 6,000 inducing a fold from his opponent.

Clinkscales, who has nearly half a million in reported live tournament earnings, sits with 65,000 in chips after the hand.

Massey Spikes Jack to Survive

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Aaron Massey
Aaron Massey

A player in early position opened for 1,500 and was reraised to 4,000 by a player in middle position. A short-stacked player moved all in for approximately 9,000 and it was folded around to Aaron Massey who also moved all in. The original raiser folded and the player in middle position made the call with {Q-}{Q-}. The shortest stacked player held {K-}{K-} and was in prime position to triple up as Massey held {J-}{J-}.

The flop would come safe for the player with kings but the river was a jack to give Massey a set. The river changed nothing and Massey scored a much needed triple up. He would win the next hand to move his stack to 50,000. The 2012 champion of this event is fresh off a six figure tournament win in Chicago and is looking to continue his impressive 2014 results thus far.

Shawn Rice Getting Short

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Long time poker professional Shawn Rice is getting short after losing a race against a shorter-stacked player. Rice's opponent opened for a raise and Rice reraised enough to set him all in. He would get called and Rice's {A-}{Q-} was unable to outdraw the {9-}{9-} his foe held when the board ran out {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Rice had 12,000 at the completion of the hand.,
