Claybrook Chops To Stay Alive

donpeters • Level 28: 30,000-60,000, 10,000 ante

Hand #11: From middle position, Jose Montes raised to 120,000. Everyone folded, and he won the pot.

Hand #12: Barry Hutter opened the action with a raise to 125,000 from middle position, and Lonny Hardcastle made the call out of the big blind to see the {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop. Hardcastle check-called a bet of 150,000 from Hutter, and the dealer placed the {7-Diamonds} out on the turn. Both players checked, and the river was the {3-Hearts}. Again, both checked, and it was Hardcastle's {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} that took down the pot. Hutter mucked.

Hand #13: Andy Andrejevic raised from middle position to 140,000, and everyone folded.

Hand #14: Play folded to Douglas Claybrook in the small blind, and he raised all in for a little over 1.1 million against Montes' big blind. Montes took a few moments, then called with the {A-Spades}{8-Clubs} and had Claybrook on the ropes with the {A-Hearts}{2-Spades}.

The flop, turn, and river ran out {J-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, and Claybrook was able to survive with a chop.
