Leah Turns a Chop Into a Win

Level 14 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Mike Leah managed to get his chips in the middle before the flop, up against a player with the same hand as him, who was at risk for 1,300,000.

Leah held {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} while his opponent tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}.

The flop came {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} with both players having the capability to back into a flush as opposed to chop the pot. The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and Leah was the one to pick up the flush draw. The river was the magical {3-Diamonds} and Leah took a quick break from playing online poker on his laptop to rake in the pot.

Ylagan Doubles Through Prom

Level 14 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Sreyleap Prom raised to 130,000 from the hijack and action folded to Eric JC Ylagan in the big blind. He paused for a moment and then moved all-in for 1,050,000. Prom tanked for a minute and eventually called.

Ylagan was at risk but well ahead with {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}, up against Prom's {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}.

The board ran out {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Ylagan held to double up.

Bad Beat Busts Benger

Level 14 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Griffin Benger's stack had shrunk to less than 10 big blinds and shoved preflop from middle position. Action folded around to Maurizio Lo Russo in the big blind and he called to put Benger at risk.

Benger: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Lo Russo: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}

Benger was racing for his tournament life and flopped huge as the dealer fanned out {6-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. The turn, however, was the {7-Diamonds} giving Lo Russo a set and a brick {q-Diamonds} on the river spelled the end for Benger.

A Bad Prom Date

Level 14 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Frederic Cossette raised to 145,000 from early position and Sreyleap Prom moved all-in for 480,000 from middle position. David Sorgente was in the hijack and cold-called. Action came back around to Cossette and he tank-called.

The flop came {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Cossette checked. Sorgente elected to move all-in for 2,190,000 and Cossette went into the tank. After about two minutes he opted to fold.

Prom tabled {a-Spades}{k-Spades} for a pair of kings with top kicker, but she was unfortunate enough to run into Sorgente's {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}.

The turn was the {4-Spades} and the river wash {9-Hearts} to sent Prom to the rail. Cossette winced and claimed to have had queen-jack, which would've made a straight to eliminate both Prom and Sorgente.
