Jean Sebastien Dubois led for most of Day 1a of the $1,650 CPPT. The field drew 154 players today and at least that many are expected tomorrow for the second and final starting flight.
Dubois leads 31 other players with 439,000. Samuel Barre finished in second, after a wild end to the flight which saw Marc Andre Ladouceur eliminated just before bagging in 33rd place. Ladouceur joined Kevin Macphee, Tim Reilly and 2009 PCA Champ Poorya Nazari as some of the higher tournament live earners to join the field. All of them failed to make Day 2 and are expected to join the Day 1b field tomorrow.
Carter Swidler did make it through, he bagged 161,500. Swidler has over $500,000 in live tournament earnings and much more in online earnings.
This is just the start of one of the bigger buy-in events at the Wolrd Cup of Cards. Day 1b starts tomorrow at 11 a.m.
This is Event #24 of the World Cup of Cards at Playground Poker Club. The WCC, which started in August will end in four days, but not before the conclusion of the CPPT $1,650.
