Start of Day 2 Chip Leader, Pascal Lefrancois

Day 2 of the World Cup of Cards (WCC) Event # 22: $5,000 NL Hold'em 8-Max is set to resume at 2 p.m. inside Playground Poker Club this afternoon. Day 1 chip leader Pascal Lefrancois takes the top spot entering play with 11 hopefuls in the hunt behind him, all vying for the $76,830 first-place prize.

Backed by a monster pot on the last hand of the night on Day 1, Lefrancois will begin Day 2 with 210,900. Lefrancois' closest competitor is WCC Event #9 winner, Francois Goulet with 148,700. World Series of Poker Main Event November Niner Marc-Etienne McLaughlin, World Poker Tour champion Chanracy Khun, and Samuel Chartier are also in the mix.

Though originally scheduled to play for three days, there is a very good chance a new WCC champion will be crowned sometime this evening. Play will resume on Level 11 with blinds starting at 600/1200 and a 200 ante.
