Lakhov Doubles Through Nastasi

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

A flip away from exiting the tournament, Alexandr Lahkov has doubled up after his {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} hit on a {J-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} board against Eros Nastasi's {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. The Russian is back to his starting stack while Nastasi shouldn't be too worried, he still has 55,000.

We'll bring you all the PokerNews right here.

A Stern Ofer

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Albert Daher just picked up a nice pot.

There was a four-way pot on a {K-Spades}{7-Spades}{J-Diamonds} flop and Vlacheslav Stoyanov led for 1,500, Ofer Stern raised to 5,000, Albert Daher called while the big blind folded. Stoyanov then also called before all three checked the {10-Diamonds} turn. The {6-Clubs} river came along and Stoyanov checked again. Stern bet 10,000 and Daher snap-called while Stoyanov folded and muttered something in Russian to Andrey Shatilov, the only words we could make out were "monster draw".

Stern sighed and showed {A-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Daher won with {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for two pair.

Avci Right Back in the Saddle

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Asaf Avci raised to 2,500 from the button and the two blinds called including Samir Maukawem in the big blind. The flop was {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. The small blind checked and Maukawem led for 3,500. Relentless, Avce raised to 7,000. The small blind folded and Maukawem asked, “How much? Seven thousand?.” He made the call and we saw a turn card of {a-Diamonds}.

Before the dealer could take her hand off the card Maukawem slammed the rest of his chips down over the line. Just as quickly Avci called. Maukawem had {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} but Avci held {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}. The turn had given Maukawem top two, but Avci straight was the best hand. The river was the {3-Clubs} and Avci claimed another victim.

Samaha Busts Naydenov

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

On the river of an {8-Hearts}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{A-Hearts} board, Bernard Samaha had bet 5,000 only for Simeon Naydenov to move all in for 40,000. Samaha tanked for a few minutes before calling with {6-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Naydenov's {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} was no good. Samaha felt that because Naydenov had four-bet preflop that he feared his opponent had aces.

Alexandr Lakhov has recovered from the earlier levels where he had to grind a short stack and pretend to be a ninja. He's now up to 57,000 after eliminating Sakis Nicolaou with {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} against {A-Spades}{10-Hearts} after the board ran out {4-Clubs}{8-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}{J-Hearts}.

Noubarian Wins a Pot Off Avci by a Whisker

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Tangle with Avci at your peril it seems, but Majid Noubarian hasn’t survived this long without putting himself in some marginal spots. On a flop of {j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} Avci led for 2,200 and Noubarian called. The turn brought the {7-Diamonds}. Avci led again for 1,700 and was prepared to call a raise from Noubarian to 3,500. They both checked the river {5-Clubs}. “Jack.” Said Avci and showed {j-Diamonds}. Noubarian turned over {j-Spades}{q-Hearts} and waited to see if Avci could beat that. He couldn’t, he showed {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.
