Level 14 Begins

As everyone makes their way back into the tournament room, we have just 12 players left, and are three eliminations away from the conclusion of the day's play. The cards are in the air once again!

Mike Browne Eliminate in 12th Place (14,360)

Mike Browne pushed all in preflop for 43,000 and stated, "Go ahead guys. Knock me out." Fatolla Shahen made the call.

Browne: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Shahen: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}

The flop was {2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

Have you ever noticed that more often than not that when you yell for a card not to come, it comes? Well, Browne asked for, "No six!" and just as if he could predict the future, the {6-Hearts} hit the turn. The {A-Clubs} on the river made Mike Browne our 12th-place finisher.

"Nice Hand, Guy"

Floyd Vanderford moves all in after Ed Jatho makes the action 30,000 to go. Vanderford has a total of 44,000 and Jatho makes the cheap call.

Jatho: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Vanderford: {K-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

The flop comes {K-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Spades} and Vanderford improves to a pair of kings. The turn is the {8-Clubs} and the river the {K-Clubs}.

Vanderford doubles up through Jatho to around 95,000. Jatho compliments him by saying, "Nice hand, guy."

Vanderford replies, "Thanks. I got lucky."

Jason Brice Eliminated in 11th Place ($14,360)

Jason Brice and Ed Jatho
Jason Brice and Ed Jatho
Jason Brice raises the pot to 25,000. Ed Jatho, the active big stack, makes the call, and we see some heads-up action.

The flop comes {2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts}, and Brice continues the betting with 40,000 more. Jatho fingers four of his shiny new yellow chips, worth 10,000 each, and flips them into the pot.

The turn card is the {10-Hearts}, and Brice moves the rest of his stack to the center -- 79,000 in chips. Jatho looks a bit flustered and shifts uneasily in his seat.

"Did you make trips?" he ponders. "Give me just a minute," he says apologetically, as he slouches over the chair next to him, contemplating the situation. After several minutes, he makes the call, putting Brice at risk of extinction.

Jatho turns over the {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, and sees that he made a good call against Brice's {A-Spades}{9-Clubs}. The {Q-Spades} on the river fails to save Brice, and he is headed out in 11th place.

Tournament Tidbits

Timothy Miles
Timothy Miles
-- The final table bubble boy, aka the tenth-place finisher, will receive $14,360 in prize money.

-- The current average chip stack is 249,000, meaning the average player has 31 big blinds.

-- There are currently 23 minutes remaining in the 14th level of play.

-- Talk of Timothy Miles getting his hair cut overnight is increasing. Some of his opponents have even offered to chip in to help cover the costs.

A Mile High

Fatolla Shahen raises from middle position, making it 24,000 to play. The only one willing to dance with him is fellow big stack, Timothy Miles, seated on the button.

The flop comes down {6-Hearts}{A-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, and Shahen continues out for 40,000. Miles again makes the call in position.

The turn card is the {J-Hearts}, and Shahen keeps the pressure on with another 80,000. Miles raises all in for a total of 195,000, prompting a series of sighs and grunts from his opponent. At the end of this, Shahen does make the call with his {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}, and sees the bad news that he is drawing very slim against the {A-Clubs}{J-Spades} of Timothy Miles. The {7-Spades} on the river means that Shahen will ship a significant chunk of chips across the table to Miles.

After the biggest pot of the tournament, Timothy Miles is up to approximately 575,000, and Shahen is now the short stack, with around 75,000 remaining.
