With just less than 20 minutes left in Level 14, Fatolla Shahen was knocked out in 10th place, setting the stage for our final table tomorrow.

Today began at noon with 69 players, and it took until just before midnight to whittle the field down to the lucky nine who will play for the championship. These players will get to sleep in a couple extra hours tomorrow, and will have fancy new seats up on stage in the Harrah's Theatre when they return to start play at 2:00 p.m. CDT.

Of note is the fact that Lou Esposito, who won the $5,000 circuit championship event a year ago here at Harrah's New Orleans (May 2007), and final tabled the one after that (December 2007), has made it to Day 3. Additionally, Jeff Tims, winner of Event #12 here at the Bayou Poker Challenge, will have a shot at his second title in this series of events. In that recent win, he pocketed just over $58,000 and can improve on that by a big margin if he can manage to outlast the field in this championship event.

Two hands after losing most of his chips to Timothy Miles, Fatolla Shahen moved all in for his remaining chips. Miles made the call.

Fatolla Shahen raises from middle position, making it 24,000 to play. The only one willing to dance with him is fellow big stack, Timothy Miles, seated on the button.

, and Shahen continues out for 40,000. Miles again makes the call in position.

The turn card is the {J-Hearts}

, and Shahen keeps the pressure on with another 80,000. Miles raises all in for a total of 195,000, prompting a series of sighs and grunts from his opponent. At the end of this, Shahen does make the call with his {K-Diamonds}

, and sees the bad news that he is drawing very slim against the {A-Clubs}

of Timothy Miles. The {7-Spades}

on the river means that Shahen will ship a significant chunk of chips across the table to Miles.

After the biggest pot of the tournament, Timothy Miles is up to approximately 575,000, and Shahen is now the short stack, with around 75,000 remaining.

Jason Brice Eliminated in 11th Place ($14,360)

Jason Brice raises the pot to 25,000. Ed Jatho, the active big stack, makes the call, and we see some heads-up action.

The flop comes {2-Clubs}

, and Brice continues the betting with 40,000 more. Jatho fingers four of his shiny new yellow chips, worth 10,000 each, and flips them into the pot.

The turn card is the {10-Hearts}

, and Brice moves the rest of his stack to the center -- 79,000 in chips. Jatho looks a bit flustered and shifts uneasily in his seat.

"Did you make trips?" he ponders. "Give me just a minute," he says apologetically, as he slouches over the chair next to him, contemplating the situation. After several minutes, he makes the call, putting Brice at risk of extinction.

Jatho turns over the {7-Hearts}
