Old McDonald Had Two Pair

From middle position, Jesse Hale opened with a raise to 4,000. He got action in one place, from small blind John McDonald.

Heads up, the flop showed {J-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}. McDonald grabbed the lead, betting out 2,000, which Hale quickly called.

Fourth street was the {4-Clubs}. McDonald bet 5,000 this time, and Hale called just as quickly this time.

The river card was the {A-Diamonds}. McDonald grabbed another 5,000 chips and flipped them forward, and Hale once again insta-called. McDonald tabled {A-Hearts} {Q-Spades}, and Hale disgustedly turned over his own {A-Spades} {10-Spades}. McDonald picks up another pot, and he has worked his way steadily up the board today. He's hovering right around the 180,000-chip mark right now.

Futhey With Quads

After the five community cards were laid out {K-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {7-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {4-Hearts}, Mark Eddleman checked to Wilbur Futhey. Futhey laid out a bet of 4,800 into a pot sitting around 9,000. Eddleman thought while Futhey slowly shuffled his cards back and forth over one another. Finally, Eddleman made the call.

Futhey slowly rolled over pocket kings to take down the pot and add over 14,000 to his stack.

Banging Away

A big pot of around 50,000 chips brewed between Tom Galusha and Jeff Banghart with the board reading {K-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {8-Clubs}.

After Galusha checked to Banghart, Banghart commented on the river card, "Not sure if I like that one." He then tossed out a bet totaling 30,000. Galusha took his time, studied the board, and counted his stack. After a few minutes in the tank, he made the fold and Banghart raked in the big pot.

Galusha Goes Out

Tom Galusha - eliminated
Tom Galusha - eliminated
Tom Galusha opened the action with a raise all in for just under 40,000. Next to act was Evan "MacDaddy34" Panesis, and he went into the tank for a minute or two. After shooting a glance at his opponent and eying up his own chip count, Panesis made the call, as the rest of the table quickly folded in turn.

Showdown:
Galusha: {3-Hearts} {3-Diamonds}
Panesis: {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds}

Right in the door came the {A-Clubs}, all but ending things for Galusha right off the bat. In the end, the board ran out {A-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {2-Spades} {Q-Hearts}, and Panesis' set of aces was the winner. He eliminates Galusha, chipping his way up over the century mark; he's on just about 105,000 right now.

Ace of Bangharts

Dennis Meierotto came in with a minimum raise to 3,200 from early position. Both blinds, Jeff Banghart and Greg Poor came along to the flop.

The dealer spread out {A-Spades} {4-Hearts} {8-Clubs}, and the action checked all the way around.

Fourth street was the {2-Diamonds}. Banghart took control now, slipping out a bet of 5,500. Poor quickly ducked out, but Meierotto was not so quickly deterred. He sat pensively for a minute or two, double-checking his hole cards and mentally counting down his own stack. Finally and reluctantly, Meierotto released his cards. The pro flashed his {A-Hearts} with a nod in the direction of Meierotto as the pot was pushed his way. Banghart is closing in on 150,000 chips.

Kruger Building Back

Harold Kruger held the big stack for most of Day 1, but has dropped down the ladder quite a few rungs. He is starting to gain chips back though and move back up.

After the turn, the board read {9-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {2-Spades} {7-Diamonds} with Mark Eddleman checking to Wilbur Futhey. Futhey bet out 11,000 before Harold Kruger raised to 22,000. Eddleman folded dramatically and then Futhey made the call.

The river came the {10-Spades} and Futhey looked as if he was going to bet, but then decided to check. Kruger immediately fired out 30,000 and Futhey folded almost as fast.

Kruger is back to around 85,000 now.

Lee Adams Eliminated

After the turn, Lee Adams checked over to chip leader John McDonald. The board was {10-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} and McDonald fired a bet of 3,000. Adams moved all in for about 15,000 total and McDonald made the call.

McDonald held {A-?} {7-?} for trip sevens and was a lock to bust out Adams when he showed the {6-?} {4-?}.

The river completed the board with the {8-Hearts} and the final 18 players will now redraw for seats.
