In a limped pot, three players saw a flop of . The blinds checked, and Gavin Smith took the first stab, firing out 24,000 chips. Before the chips even settled into the felt, big blind Kai Landry announced, "All in," check-raising the rest of his chips into the pot.
This decision took Gavin aback as he sat back in his chair, shoulders slouched. It would be at least 3-5 minutes before he decided what to do. He counted and re-counted his chips. He checked-and re-checked his hole cards. He scratched and re-scratched his head. Finally, and apparently with much uncertainty, Gavin released his hand.
Kai Landry has been getting a bit frisky of late, and it's not surprising that Smith gave him a bit of a sideways look after folding. We'll wait and see how many more times Smith and the other pros let Landry make those bold plays.
Vince Byrd has been short for a while and as he told us he "only had about 10 big blinds left." He decided to try and make a move with and was called by Mike Leah, who held .
Byrd was unable to get luck and therefore was forced to fly out of here in 11th place. He will take home $14,718 for his efforts.
Following the elimination of Vince Byrd, we are down to our final ten players. The seats have been redrawn and combined into one last table. We'll play on until we lose one more player, setting up our final table tomorrow.
Seat 1: Leonard Eidson
Seat 2: Brian McCoy
Seat 3: Glenn Hyde
Seat 4: Kai Landry
Seat 5: Gavin Smith
Seat 6: David Dao
Seat 7: Jeremy Byrum
Seat 8: Mike Leah
Seat 9: Frank Wyville
Seat 10: Matt Stout
We did not see the action preflop but when we go to the table, Kai Landry had moved all in against Gavin Smith, and Smith made the call. Landry had Smith covered.

Smith had the lead but quickly lost it when the board hit . Smith would need one of the remaining eights to win the hand. Unfortunately for Smith, the turn fell the and the river fell the .
Gavin Smith becomes our final table bubble boy. He finishes in 10th place, and will take home $14,718 for his fantastic run.
That's all she wrote folks. What began with 27 players this afternoon has been whittled down to just nine, barely three hours later.
David Dao was the tall stack to start the day, and he managed to ride that stack all the way into Day Three tomorrow. Unfortunately for him, he lost a few chips overall today, and he will begin as one of the short stacks. The good news is that all nine remaining players are well within contention.
Matt "Allinat420" Stout may have something to say about that though. He certainly stole the show today. Beginning play second in chips, it was hardly any time at all before he put his name firmly atop the board. Once he got there, he would not look back. Stout has become the first player to crest 1,000,000 in chips! In fact, he will take very nearly one third of the chips on the table into battle tomorrow. There's no doubt that the other eight players have their work cut out.
It's useless to speculate; we'll find out all of our answers tomorrow. We hope you'll join us at 2:00pm CST on Wednesday as we crown our champion here at the 2009 WSOP-C Tunica. Until then, goodnight from Harrah's!
