Seat 9: Brandon Adams (155,000)

Brandon Adams
Brandon Adams

Brandon Adams is a highly-accomplished writer, teacher, and professional poker player. As a teacher, Adams taught finance and macroeconomics courses at Harvard University for eight years. Since 2006, though, he's been traveling the live poker circuit, racking up cashes in a variety of events across all disciplines of poker.

He's amassed nine WSOP cashes during that time, including two final tables. One of those came in 2010 as Adams took 2nd place in the $10,000 Seven-card Stud World Championship. He also finished 16th in the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. World Championship, proving his mettle as a mixed-game monster. As a Full Tilt Poker Red Pro, Adams can often be found playing cash games as high as $1,000/2,000 No-limit Hold'em.

He's looking for his first piece of WSOP jewelry here today, but he's still a long way from the ring. Adams begins the day on the short stack with 155,000, in need of an early rush.
