Christine Brewer opened for 600 and Rommy Lipman raised to 1,800 directly behind her. Action folded back around to Brewer and she called. The flop fell , Brewer checked and Lipman bet 1,725. Brewer check-raised to 4,400 and Lipman re-raised to 9,100.
That furrowed Brewer's brow and she was clearly not happy with how things had progressed. She laid the hand down and shot a glare at Lipman.
"Did you have a pair?" Lipman asked.
She nodded and added, "Bigger than the board," she said under her breath.
After five limps and a completion from the small blind, Dennis Phillips peered down at his cards in the big blind and raised to 2,400. Action folded around to Charles Moore who was the only player to call.
The flop came . After a brief moment, Phillips checked and Moore quickly pushed his short stack all in. Phillips called just as quick as Moore's push, and tabled . Moore, however, had flopped a set, holding .
Fourth and fifth street came and and just like that Moore was able to score a double up. Phillips on the other hand, could only shake his head.
Hung Truong limped in middle position, Peter Mavro raised to 1,125 and Jamie Kerstetter called from the small blind. Truong called to see the flop fall . Kerstetter and Truong checeked and Mavro bet 2,150. Kerstetter got out of the way and Truong called.
The turn came and both players checked. The river came and both players checked again. Mavro tabled and Truong flipped over pocket deuces to take the hand.
Tripp Kirk is fresh off winning the WSOPC Main Event St. Louis and was gunning to be the first player to win back-to-back Main Events. That dream just fell short as we saw Kirk pack up his things and leave the tournament area.
With the flop reading , the player in the big blind checked, and a short stacked player in the cutoff moved all in for 6,775. Craig Bergeron raised from the button, causing the big blind player to call off for his tournament life as well.

The turn and river came , leaving the player in the big blind with merely a pair of jacks against the aces of the other two. Bergeron and the cutoff chopped the main pot while Bergeron took a small side pot from the elimination of the player in the big blind.
