As we came to Dan O'Brien's table, we saw that he was collecting a pot while busting two players. O'Brien told us after the hand that all of the money got in preflop.
O'Brien:
Opponent 1:
Opponent 2:
The board ran out , and O'Brien claimed two short stack bounties. Despite the win, O'Brien has taken a hit to his stack, as he is under 50,000.
Scott Clements got his final 16,000 chips all in preflop holding after he shoved from the button and was called by the big blind. He was up against and found no help on the board.
Following him out of the poker room was David "Bakes" Baker. However, there is a good chance we will see both of them tomorrow.
The two players that have emerged with large stacks are Giorgio Medici and Jeff Zigulis.
Medici told us that he was sitting with just 16,000 shortly before the dinner break. What's more is that he was involved in a hand in which he three-bet with preflop before and to forced him to fold his hand. The case ace found its way to the flop of an otherwise dry board and that would have likely cost him even more chips. Quite a turn of fortunes for Medici.
Playing out right in front of us at the media desk, we have a battle of new school versus old school in the $1,000 buy in event that started yesterday. Internet sensation Bryan Devonshire is currently heads up, and his opponent is none other then Paul "Eskimo" Clark. At the moment, Devonsire holds the chip lead. We will be sure to post the winner of this heads up battle when it finishes.
