Big Turnout Expected for Choctaw

Day 1a is close to underway for the World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event at the Choctaw Casino and Resort. The circuit stop has seen larger than expected numbers across the board for all the preliminary events. In fact, more than 100 seats were awarded to the Main Event in a Super Satellite that played out yesterday.

Some of poker's biggest names are on hand for the event. We've seen Scotty Nguyen, Todd Brunson, Chad Brown, T.J. Cloutier and Dennis Phillips in the casino already. They were nice enough to have an autograph signing event for fans and players.

Raja Kattamuri has virtually locked up the Casino Champion title already. He won his first WSOPC gold ring in Event 3, a $555 No Limit Hold'em event, and placed second in Event 6, a $345 Six Max No Limit Hold'em event. Last night he won his second WSOPC gold ring in the first Heads Up event the WSOPC has scheduled. While Kattamuri was going deep in the Heads Up event his unattended stack made the money in Event 9, a $345 Pot Limit Omaha event.

Cards will be in the air shortly and be sure to follow all the WSOPC action live on Pokernews.com
