The Numbers
It's official. This edition of the WSOPC Palm Beach drew 778 runners to the felt, a nice increase over last year's 712. With the extra money, the prize pool grew to $1,131,990 this time around, and that money will be split among the final 81 players.
The bottom payout is worth $2,819 — a bit less than twice the buy-in. Things progress steadily until we hit the final two tables and the start of the five-figure payouts. The last 18 players will all earn at least $11,512, and the final table payouts are all worth $21,383 or more. A spot in the final three is worth more than $100,000, and the winner will take the lion's share of the pool. A gold ring, $226,395, and some serious bragging rights are the winner's purse here, but there are still two long days left to play before we can write that check to one of these lucky players.
