We only caught the aftermath of the hand, but we did see that David Randall doubled through our former chip leader Soi Nguyen. All we saw was that Randall held , there was a on the river, and Nguyen was sending chips over to Randall.
After that hand, Randall is back up to 760,000, while Nguyen drops down to 465,000.
Well it didn't take long for Soi Nguyen to get those chips back. He started the action by raising to 23,000, and he was three bet to 50,000 by Nick Egide. Nguyen made the call, and the flop came . From here, the action was quick, as Egide bet, Nguyen moved all in, and Egide made the call.
Nguyen:
Egide:
Nguyen was drawing very live, but Egide's hand eliminated the straight possibilities for him. Needing a spade or a king, Nguyen caught the on the turn to complete his flush. The river was the , and Nguyen scored the knockout, and sent Egide to the payout desk.
As we were typing up the bustout for Nick Egide, we also lost Bobby Suer in 12th place. We found out after that Suer open shoved for 79,000 from under the gun, and Ted Jivkov made the call. Jivkov's was dominating Suer's , and the board ran dry for Suer.
The eliminations have been coming rapidly all day long, but the action has slowed here 11-handed. There haven't been many big pots, but there should be action soon. Ray Henson (115,000), and Artem Ivaneko (105,000) both have less then 10 big blinds.
Artem Ivanenko moved all in for 96,000 in early position, and it folded around to Soi Nguyen in the big blind. Nguyen asked for a count, and when he got the official number, he said "let's gamble," and made the call. Unfortunately, for Nguyen, he was in horrible shape.
Ivanenko:
Nguyen:
Ivanenko's patience on the short stack paid off, and he looked golden as the flop came . Of course nothing is easy in poker, so the came on the turn. Nguyen could score the knockout with a king or jack, but the river was the .
Ivanenko is up to 205,000 after the hand, while Nguyen drops to 550,000.
Soi Nguyen raised it up to 30,000, and James Czarnecki made the call. The flop came , and Nguyen c-bet to 35,000. Czarnecki grabbed a few of the yellow T25,000 chips, and put in a raise to 135,000. It was back to Nguyen, and he only took a few seconds to move all in. Czarnecki made the call, making it the biggest pot of the tournament.
Nguyen:
Czarnecki:
Nguyen was out in front with the overpair, but he would need to fade a king or heart to win the pot. The turn was a red card, but it was the , and the river was also a red card, but also a diamond. The to be exact.
Nguyen had 523,000 behind, meaning he has doubled up to 1.1 million. Meanwhile, Czarnecki is now one of the short stacks, with 260,000.
Action folded around to Ray Henson in the small blind, and he moved all in for 120,000. Edmund Liu was in the big blind, and he made the call as soon as he peaked down at his cards.
Henson:
Liu:
The flop was action packed, coming . Henson had flopped two pair, but Liu was still drawing very live, and when the hit the turn, Henson was drawing dead. The completed the board, and Liu took all of Henson's chips.
With that pot, Liu regains the chip lead, sitting on 1.23 million. We are now down to 10, and those players are forming the unofficial final table as we speak.
The players have decided to take the full hour dinner break. We are down to 10 players, and when the dinner break ends, we will post a seating chart with chip updates as well.
