Two Black Aces for Sanders

Level 14 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We caught the aftermath of a huge hand which saw Michael Sanders almost triple up.

When we got to the table, we saw the flop reading {8-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{10-Spades} and a short stacked player was all in with {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. Sanders was all in over the top with {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} and both players were covered by a player holding {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}.

The turn and river were the {4-Spades} and the {J-Spades}, giving Sanders the ace-high flush and the best hand. He's now sitting on about 135,000.

Rothfolk's Ace-High Is Good

Level 14 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

The board read {8-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Cary Marshall fired out a bet of 15,000. Action was on Andrew Rothfolk and he sat riffling chips and contemplating his action. After about forty-five seconds, he tossed out a call.

"Good call," said Marshall. "I missed."

Rothfolk then rolled up {A-Spades}{10-Hearts} for merely ace-high.

"Very good call!" said Marshall, showing {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for an open-ended straight draw.

With this win Rothfolk is sitting on about 187,000.

Massey The Manipulator

Level 15 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

"Are you ready for this?" Aaron Massey asked us as we approached his table. He peered down at his cards and cut out a raise to 4,200, exclaiming that he wanted to perform well while the media was around.

It folded to Claudia Crawford on the button and she announced a call. The two were heads up take a flop of {3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Both checked and the {5-Diamonds} hit the turn. Massey checked again and Crawford fired 4,500. Massey stuck around.

The {9-Hearts} hit the river and Massey checked a third time.

"Twelve," said Crawford, announcing a bet of 12,000.

Massey snapped her off.

"King-high," she lamented.

Massey flipped over {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} and dragged in a nice sized pot.

"You just wake up with eights there?" asked Crawford.

"I'm a manipulator!" said Massey. "I manipulate the competition!"

He's now sitting on approximately 116,000 in chips.

Cartwright Doubles Up Opponent

Level 15 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Kyle Cartwright opened the action to 4,000 from late position and the player to his immediate left announced a three-bet all in for 22,600. Action came back around to Cartwright who crunched some numbers and announced a call, showing {9-Spades}{8-Spades}. His opponent tabled {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}.

Cartwright released a chuckle. "You're ahead."

The flop brought Cartwright hope by giving him an open-ended straight draw through {K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. The turn and river, however, did not complete his straight as they came {6-Spades} and {Q-Diamonds} respectively. Despite taking the hit, Cartwright is still sitting around 150,000 in chips.
