Final 30 Return; A Champion Will Be Crowned Today

David Grandieri On Top
David Grandieri On Top

After two starting flights and a grueling second day of play, the final 30 players will return today for the last day of the 2012-13 World Seires of Poker Circuit Palm Beach Kennel Club Main Event. We are 29 eliminations away from a champion and the man closest to accumulating every chip in play is David Grandieri who will sport a stack of 1.352 million coming into the final day.

There are still a hefty handful of notable players returning for the final day. Those who are still on the path to WSOP Circuit glory include Jonathan Tamayo, Sheddy Siddiqui, Clint Tolbert, Sam Panzica, Nancy Birnbaum, Mark Rose, Jon Godwin, Tom Gleason, and Arshin Gamini.

While the poker gods were kind to those players, others were not as fortunate, as their tournament came to an end late on Day 2. Yesterday saw the elimination of such players are Mark Maletic, Ebony Kenney, Lee Childs, Jared Jaffee, Rex Clinkscales, Tripp Kirk, Harrison Gimbel, Josh Arieh, and Natasha Barbour.

We're expecting a long day here at the Palm Beach Kennel Club, so make sure to stay tuned to PokerNews throughout the day as the field is whittled down to the final table and beyond!

Three Quick Eliminations

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Three players have been eliminated quickly here in Day 3 prompting the tournament staff to pause the clock and do a full re-draw for the final 27.

After Bryan Campanello opened with a raise, Clarence Jones three-bet all in. Luke Graham re-shoved over the top and Campanello folded.

Jones: {A-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}
Graham: {J-Spades}{j-Hearts}

The board ran out {5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and Jones was sent to the rail.

Soon after, Don Todd was all in with pocket sevens before the flop. He was called by Zhen Cai's {k-}{Q-} and was eliminated when Cai paired up on the flop.

Pedro Rios was also eliminated in unknown action.

Gamini Busts Daniels

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Abbey Daniels moved her last roughly 200,000 all in before the flop only to have Arshin Gamini three-bet ship all in over the top from the button. The rest of the table folded and the hands were tabled:

Daniels: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Gamini: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

The board ran out {q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{j-Spades} and Daniels was sent packing in 27th place.

Johnston Eliminated; Graham Soars

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

We missed the action, but the table was kind enough to recap the Michael Johnston's final hand for us. In a four-bet pot, Johnston was heads up with Luke Graham to see a flop of {Q-}{J-}{4-}. Johnston shipped his last roughly 400,000 and Graham snapped him off.

Johnston tabled {A-}{J-} for middle pair and was killed by Graham's {Q-}{Q-} for top set. The queens held and Johnston was sent packing early here in Day 3. Graham, on the other hand, is now sitting pretty with about 1.3 million in chips.

No Crooks

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Although cards have been in the air for roughly 35 minutes already, Albert Crooks is still a no-show. His chips are on the table and in play but he is currently blinding off.

Campanello Busts Tiseo

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Albert Tiseo opened for a raise in early position, Bryan Campanello three-bet on his direct left, and the action folded back to Tiseo, who moved all in for a little over 300,000. Campanello called.

Tiseo: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Campanello: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Campanello held as the board ran out {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, and Tiseo was eliminated. Campanello now sits with 785,000 chips.
