Maletic Loses Battle of Blinds

Level 8 : 250/500, 50 ante

Action folded around to Mark Maletic in the small blind, and he completed. The big blind checked his option, and the flop came {2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. Maletic came out swinging with a bet of 600 only to have his opponent make it 1,200 to go. Maletic called to see the {A-Hearts} hit the turn, then slowed down with a check. His opponent once again bet 1,200. Maletic released, and his opponent was pushed the pot.

Maletic is sitting on about 44,000 in chips.

Another Tough Fold for Jaffee

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante
Jared Jaffee
Jared Jaffee

Faced with what looked like a three-bet to 3,025, Jared Jaffee, who made a tough fold earlier, four-bet to 7,800. It folded back to the three-bettor, who immediately spun a card protector that was sitting on top of his chips. He shifted around somewhat uncomfortably looking in his chair, then reached in his pocket for a coin. He flipped it into the air, and it sloppily landed right in front of Jaffee.

Seeing that it was heads, the player grabbed all of his chips and moved all in for 37,425. Jaffee laughed.

"If that came up tails, were you folding?" Jaffee asked the player.

The player grinned, then said, "No."

Jaffee laughed to himself once more, tanked for two minutes or so, then folded the {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} face up.

The player mucked face down, then raked in the pot.

MacKinnon's Kings Can't Hold; Panzica Almost Triples

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

The player under the gun opened to 1,500 and it folded around to DJ MacKinnon who called from late position. Sam Panzica then three-bet to 5,000 from the cutoff. Aaron Overton peeked at his hand from the button and moved out a four-bet to 10,000. The original raiser folded and it was back on MacKinnon who five-bet shoved for over 15,000 total. Panzica then moved all in over the top for a bit more and Overton called them both.

MacKinnon: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Panzica: {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Overton: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Panzica struck gold when the {6-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop fell, giving him a set of jacks and the best hand. His set held as the {2-Spades} turned and the {7-Clubs} rivered, securing him an almost triple up. MacKinnon, on the other hand, was forced to the rail as his kings were unable to hold up as the best hand. He informed us that he would be back to play for the second starting flight.
