John Bowman raised to 125,000 in middle position, Daniel Weinman called on the button, and Hugh Henderson defended his big blind. The flop fell {3-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, Henderson checked, and Bowman fired 150,000. Weinman and Henderson called.

The turn was the {8-Spades}, all three players checked, and the river brought a third heart - the {10-Hearts}. Henderson tossed out 275,000, Bowman folded, and Weinman raised to 885,000.

"Call," Henderson said immediately. "Full house?"

Weinman showed {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for a turned full house, and Henderson shook his head before showing {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a rivered flush.

Kory Kilpatrick open-shoved for 665,000 from under the gun. Daniel Weinman called on the button, and Hugh Henderson called in the big blind.

The two checked it down as the board ran out {2-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{8-Spades}{k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, and Kilpatrick ripped over {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for kings full of eights.

Weinman showed two sixes, and Henderson ace-queen.

Clubs Help Zinaty Keep Seat

Level 30 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
George Zinaty
George Zinaty

Following a middle-position open to 100,000 by Kory Kilpatrick, George Zinaty reraised all in for 620,000 from a seat over. It folded back around to Daniel Weinman in the small blind who called Zinaty's push, and when the action got back to Kilpatrick he reraised all in for 855,000 and Weinman called once again.

The three players turned over their hands...

Weinman: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Kilpatrick: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Zinaty: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

Zinaty stood while the other two remained seated as the flop came {8-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{4-Spades}. "Put the ten of clubs out there," said Kilpatrick to the dealer. "Let's have a sweat."

The turn then brought the {2-Clubs} and all noted how Zinaty had picked up a flush draw. "Okay, that's enough," cracked Kilpatrick. "No more sweat, please."

Then came the river... the {9-Clubs}! "Yes!" cried Zinaty, who besides winning the main pot won a hug from his girlfriend, too.

Meanwhile, Kilpatrick survived by taking the small side pot, although is now down under 500,000.

Kinney Surges

Level 30 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
James Kinney moving toward the top of the charts
James Kinney moving toward the top of the charts

James Kinney came in for a raise to 100,000 from middle position. Raymond Weaved defended his big blind, then check-called another 100,000 from Kinney on a flop of {10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

The turn was the {j-Hearts}, and Weaver took the lead in the hand, tossing out two blue T100,000 chips. Kinney quickly called.

The river was the {2-Spades}, and Weaver tossed out three more T100,000 chips. Kinney instantly called.

Weaver showed {j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for jacks and tens, but they were no good against Kinney's {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for trip tens.

The very next hand, Kinney opened to 100,000 again. John Bowman three-bet to 225,000 on his direct left, and the action folded to Kinney, who called again.

"Check dark," Kinney said.

The dealer fanned {7-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, and Bowman fired 175,000. Kinney quickly called.

The turn was the {9-Hearts}, Kinney checked again, and Bowman tossed out 275,000. Without counting them, Kinney reached for a random stack of blue T100,000 chips and check-raised to 700,000. Bowman mulled the decision over for 30 seconds or so, then folded.

Kinney is now the chip leader with nearly four million chips.

Jonathan Moseley Eliminated in 8th Place ($29,981)

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Jonathan Moseley - 8th Place
Jonathan Moseley - 8th Place

Down to his last 595,000, Jonathan Moseley open-raised all in from the cutoff seat, and when it folded to Raymond Weaver in the small blind he set out the calling chips. Hugh Henderson folded from the big blind, and the remaining players tabled their cards.

Weaver: {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Moseley: {K-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The flop came {4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{A-Spades} to pair Weaver's ace, and after the {3-Spades} turn card the {J-Hearts} on the river was no matter. Moseley is out while chip leader Weaver is now up over 6 million as Level 29 nears its close.

Jerry Monroe - 9th Place

The table folded around to Jerry Monroe on the button who checked his cards and then slid his remaining stack of about 350,000 forward for an all-in raise. George Zinaty tossed his cards from the small blind, then James Kinney thought for a short while in the big blind before saying "All right, I call."

Kinney: {A-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Monroe: {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

The flop came {4-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}, pairing Kinney and leaving Monroe still in need of improvement to survive. The turn brought the {9-Hearts} and some straight outs for Monroe, causing Kinney to wipe his brow grinningly to indicate the added sweat.

The {7-Clubs} then landed on fifth street, ending Monroe's run in ninth place.

Meet the Final Nine

Level 28 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
The official final table
The official final table

Here's some information about the eclectic group that makes up our final nine players...

John Bowman of Hickory, North Carolina works in roofing and lists this final table as his first major poker accomplishment. The 30-year-old is married and with a two-year-old son whom he loves to death.

Hugh Henderson of Greenville, South Carolina is a 30-year-old former executive recruiter who has been playing poker professionally for the last six year. Last summer Henderson finished third in Event No. 53 at the WSOP ($1,500 NLHE), a finish worth $322,866. Sporting a Clemson Tigers shirt, he's never missed a Tigers home game in 25 years.

Kory Kilpatrick of Athens, Georgia is a professional poker player who has won extensively online while also having begun racking up live scores at a rapid clip over the last two years. He cashed seven times at last summer's WSOP in Las Vegas, including in the Main Event. He also played basketball at Rhodes College.

James Kinney lives in Charlotte, North Carolina where he works as a performance coach. The 49-year-old has a few nice scores on his poker resume, including a second-place finish in a $580 NLHE event at the WSOP-C Tunica stop back in January that earned him $22,739. He's also a top-rated fencer.

Jerry Monroe was born in Germany and now resides in Columbus, Georgia where he works as a real estate investor. The 45-year-old is married with two kids, and describes himself as a "weekend warrior" poker-wise. That said, he's had quite an accomplished part-time career, and in fact has a WSOP Circuit Main Event title under his belt, having won the 2011-12 Biloxi ME and a cool $112,779 first prize.

Jonathan Moseley is a 29-year-old poker player with over $100,000 in tournament winnings including a first place in the Gulf Coast Poker Championship in Biloxi last summer for a $54,144 score. Originally from New York, the former college baseball player currently resides in Georgia.

Raymond Weaver is a 69-year-old retired train controller from McDonough, Georgia who has a few cashes over recent years, including a final table at the WSOP-C Main Event in Tunica back in February 2012 where he finished ninth. In addition to playing poker, he collects coins and sports cards.

Daniel Weinman of Atlanta, Georgia is poker pro who lists his former occupation as a lumberjack. His girlfriend finished 30th in the Ladies Event here at Harrah's Cherokee, and he lists his marital status as "probably married if I win this." Also under poker accomplishments, the 25-year-old notes "some guy gave me a rock yesterday when I busted him." Weinman additionally has over $360,000 in tourney winnings, including multiple cashes in both the WSOP and WSOPE last year.

George Zinaty, originally from Lebanon, now lives in Charlotte, North Carolina. The 54-year-old is a retired hair stylist who owned his own salon, thus giving him the nickname "Salon George." Under "interesting things about you" he lists his four children and one grand-daughter, having won gold awards, and that he is handsome.

Just as Mark Handy was being eliminated in 11th on the other table, Table 2 also saw an all-in confrontation take place. Kory Kilpatrick opened in early position, Todd Osborne three-bet jammed for around 500,000 in middle position, and the action folded back to Kilpatrick, who quickly called.

Kilpatrick: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Osborne: {a-Spades}{4-Hearts}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}{k-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}, and Osborne was eliminated. We are now at an official final table of nine players, and play will resume shortly.

Mark Handy Eliminated in 11th Place ($19,170)

Level 28 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Mark Handy - 11th Place
Mark Handy - 11th Place

On just the second hand of the day over on Table 3, it folded around to James Kinney in the small blind who raised enough to put his neighbor — short stack Mark Handy — all in, and Handy called from the big blind for his last 250,000 or so.

Kinney had {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Handy {A-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. The flop came {5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, and Handy began calling for a saving six. But the turn was the {Q-Diamonds} and the river the {8-Clubs}, and Handy is out.

They might have stopped to redraw to a ten-handed table at that point, but an all-in situation has come up at the next table, too… stay tuned.

Henderson Leads Entering Final Day

Hutch Henderson
Hutch Henderson

The third and final day of the 2012-13 World Series of Poker Circuit Harrah's Cherokee is set to begin in 30 minutes or so, and the overwhelming chip leader of the remaining 11 players is Hugh Henderson. Henderson bagged over four million chips, giving him a quarter of the chips in play, and the next closest competitor is Jonathan Moseley (2.395 million). Henderson finished third in Event #53 of the 2012 WSOP, earning $322,866.

George Zinaty is the only other play to bag over two million chips. Zinaty won a massive pot off of Fernando Tobal, when he open shoved for three-times the pot with a flush draw. Tobal called with two pair, and Zinaty hit Broadway on the river.

Once there is a single elimination today, the remaining 10 players will combine to make an unofficial final table. From there, we will play until there is one player standing, and that player will earn $250,380, a seat into the Souther Comfort Proof 100 WSOP National Championship, and a seat into the 2013 WSOP Main Event.
