Fernando Tobal Eliminated in 19th Place ($10,709)

Level 25 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Fernando Tobal - 19th Place
Fernando Tobal - 19th Place

Fernando Tobal opened to 32,000 in the cutoff seat. John Bowman three-bet to 80,000 on his direct left, and George Zinaty quickly cold-called in the small blind. Tobal called as well.

The dealer fanned {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, and Zinaty instantly shoved all in for 712,000 - nearly three times the pot. Tobal quickly called all-in for less (350,000), and Bowman stood up for 30 seconds or so before folding.

Zinaty: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Tobal: {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}

"Very good hand," Zinaty said, resigned to losing the pot.

The {7-Clubs} bricked on the turn, but the {k-Spades} spiked on the river, giving Zinaty Broadway. He didn't realize it at first, but when his friends started celebrating, he began clapping loudly.

Tobal hit the rail in 19th place, while Zinaty now has 1.3 million chips.

Charles Carver Eliminated in 21st Place ($10,709)

Level 25 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Charles Carver - 21st Place
Charles Carver - 21st Place

Charles Carver opened for a raise, Hugh Henderson called in the blinds, and the dealer fanned {j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. Henderson checked, Carver fired 50,000, and Henderson called.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds}, Henderson checked again, and Carver tossed out 100,000. Henderson again called.

The {a-Clubs} completed the board, and Henderson checked a third time. Carver moved all in for 132,000, and Henderson quickly called. Carver sheepishly showed two threes, which Henderson had beat with {a-Spades}{10-Spades} for a pair of aces.

Carver hit the rail in 21st place, earning $10,709.

Charles Tidmarsh Eliminated in 22nd Place ($9,027)

Level 25 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Charles Tidmarsh - 22nd Place
Charles Tidmarsh - 22nd Place

Charles Tidmarsh open-raised all in for his last 190,000 or so from middle position, and it folded around to John Bowman in the big blind who called right away.

Tidmarsh had {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}, and when he saw Bowman's {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} he already began to rise from his chair.

The delivery of the five community cards — {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} — completed Tidmarsh's move up and out of his chair, and before long he was making his way out of the Harrah's Cherokee Event Center and to the cashier's desk located just outside.

Richard "Rick" Robb Eliminated in 23rd Place ($9,027)

Level 25 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Richard Robb - 23rd Place
Richard Robb - 23rd Place

Milan Dragic limped in from middle position, Richard "Rick" Robb moved all in for 134,000 more near the button, and the action folded back to Dragic, who called.

"I haven't played a hand in an hour!" Robb complained before the hands were tabled.

Robb: {k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Dragic: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

To Robb's surprise, Dragic actually had a strong hand. The flop came {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}, changing very little, but the {k-Clubs} turned, giving Robb a pair of kings. The {10-Clubs} spiked on the river however, giving Dragic Broadway, and Robb was eliminated in 23rd place.

Cary Marshall Eliminated in 26th Place ($7,961)

Level 24 : 7,000/14,000, 2,000 ante
Cary Marshall - 26th place
Cary Marshall - 26th place

Cary Marshall opened with a raise to 35,000 from under the gun, then John Bowman reraised to 80,000 from middle position. It folded back around to Todd Osborne in the big blind who called the three-bet, then Marshall called as well.

The flop came {5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, and Osborne led with a bet of 100,000. Marshall then pushed all in for more than 250,000, and after Bowman stepped aside, Osborne thought for a short while before calling Marshall's shove.

Osborne had {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for an overpair while Marshall held {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for a couple of live cards and a flush draw. The turn was the {K-Hearts} and river the {4-Spades}, and Marshall wished the others good luck before heading to the cashier's desk.

Weinman Knocks Out Raymer

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Greg Raymer
Greg Raymer

Greg Raymer's WSOP Circuit Main Event run here at Harrah's Cherokee has come to an end with a 29th-place finish.

Raymer battled with a short stack for the last couple of hours before a hand arose in which chip leader Daniel Weinman opened with a raise to 24,000. When it folded to Raymer he then shoved for his last 150,000 or so, and Weinman called.

Weinman had {A-}{K-} while Raymer needed improvement with his {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}.

The flop came {K-}{Q-}{3-} with one diamond, then the {J-Diamonds} fell on the turn to give Raymer flush hopes. But the river was another {J-}, and Raymer was eliminated.

As is his custom, he signed the fossil he'd been using as a card protector today and gave it to Weinman while congratulating him on the hand.

That's more chips for Weinman, who is now over 1.8 million.

Wein Puts on His Cape

Level 21 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Daniel Weinman
Daniel Weinman

When we arrived at the table, James Steen and Daniel Weinman were heads up on a board of {5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. Weinman checked, Steen fired 90,000 into a pot of around 200,000, and Weinman went deep into the tank.

Weinman eventually called, and Steen turned over ace-high. Weinman tabled {7-Spades}{5-Spades} for a pair of fives.

"Good call," Steen said genuinely. "Good call."

Weinman is back up to 425,000 chips, while Steen slipped to 715,000.

Kyle Cartwright (Day 1a) - Eliminated
Kyle Cartwright (Day 1a) - Eliminated

George Zinaty opened to 22,000 from middle position, Kyle Cartwright jammed for roughly 120,000 or so on his left, and Jason Gwinn re-jammed in the cutoff. The action folded back to Zinaty, who painstakingly folded {a-}{q-} face up.

Cartwright: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Gwinn: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Gwinn's kings held as the board ran out {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, and Cartwright was eliminated.
