Level 18 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Patrick Friday has just vaulted into one of the top chip positions. We arrived at the table after the action had been completed, but Friday held {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} before the flop in a confrontation with two other players.

Friday eliminated a player holding {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} while at the same time being able to double through another player who held {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. Friday's all in was for 149,500.

Akimov Busts; We're In The Money!

Level 18 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Akim Akimov was all in for his last 77,000 before the flop when we came to the table. Tom Christopher was pondering his action and eventually decided to call.

Akimov: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Christopher: {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}

The two were racing for Akimov's tournament life heading to the flop. The dealer fanned {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} on the felt and suddenly it looked bleak for Akimov. The {6-Clubs} turned and Akimov was left hoping to spike an eight on the river. Alas, the dealer produced the {J-Clubs} and Akimov's fate was sealed as our bubble boy.

Every remaining player is now guaranteed at least $2,722 in tournament winnings.

Borukhov Gets White Washed

Level 19 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

The flop read {9-Spades}{3-Hearts}{J-Hearts} when we came upon the table and saw Antoine White put Eugene Borukhov all in. Borukhov called for his tournament life.

"I have a nine," said White as he tabled {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.

White glanced across the table and saw Borukhov show {A-Spades}{J-Clubs} for top-top.

"Nice hand," remarked White.

The words had barely left his lips when the {9-Clubs} drilled the turn, giving him trip nines and suddenly vaulting him into the lead. The entire table let out a collective gasp. The {10-Spades} completed the board and just like that Borukhov's tournament life had come to an end. White scooped up the chips and is now sitting on about 320,000.

Renzi Wins Race

Level 19 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We caught up to find a player all in and at risk before the flop while holding {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. He was racing with John Renzi's {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}.

The flop came down {4-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Renzi's sevens maintained the lead. The {10-Hearts} hit fourth street and Renzi needed to dodge an ace or a queen heading to the river to reduce the field by one player. Fifth street was the {K-Clubs} and Renzi was able to score the knockout and scoop the pot. He's now sitting on 400,000 in chips.
