In October 2011, Bob Chow topped a field of 1,615 players to win the WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Hammond for $393,584 and a seat into the National Championship. Chow is looking for his second Main Event title in today's field.
After busting Day 1a, Chow opted to re-enter. Things were looking bleak for the man from Schaumburg, Illinois as he was down to 8,750, but he just received a much-needed double. It happened when Chow got his stack all in preflop holding the and was well out in front of his opponent's . The board ran out a clean and Chow's jacks held to deliver him the double.

It took a full 12 levels for Kelly Cortum to amass his Day-1a-leading stack of 140,000, but it only took Scott Sharp seven levels to surpass it on Day 1b. We first discovered Sharp in a massive four-way all-in pot that same him and another player each holding . Another player held , while the player with the best hand had . The flop put Sharp and his counterpart out in front, and they'd end up chopping the pot after the appeared on the turn followed by the river. That pot boosted Sharp's stack to 150,000.

Some tournaments seem to drag on forever, but every once in awhile, one will finish in what seems like record time. That was the case with WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Council Bluffs Event #5 $365 No-Limit Hold’em, which began on Monday at 12 p.m. and lasted 21 levels. During that time the field of 186 players was trimmed to the final table of nine.
Those players returned on Tuesday and were cut down to the final two— Ryan Krauss and Pavlin Karakikov—in just three hours. The duo then played heads up for nearly four hours before Krauss was able to toppled Karakikov, who earned $8,962 for his runner-up finish.
“It feels great, man,” Krauss said after capturing the $14,505 first-place prize. “When we were head-to-head [Karakikov] was tough. He was playing tight and I had to grind it out a little bit.”
The 38-year-old investment advisor and instrument-rated pilot from Saint Paul, Nebraska overcame some stiff competition on the way to his first gold ring including WSOP gold bracelet champion and winner of Event #1 Nick Jivkov (10th) and 2011-2012 Horseshoe Council Bluffs Casino Champion Mike Nellis (5th).

Mark Fink, who won Event #10 $365 No-Limit Hold'em Turbo on Friday night for $15,835 and knocked out Mark "P0Ker H0" Kroon not too long ago, has struck again.
We caught the action on a board reading when Fink and an unknown opponent got the chips in the middle. The latter was all in for 15,725 and ahead with the , but Fink was drawing to both a straight and flush with the . "Damnit," the unknown player exclaimed when the spiked on the river to give Fink the said flush and the knockout.

Action folded to Larry Scholl in the cutoff and he opened for 1,025. Blair Hinkle responded with a three-bet to 4,350 from the big blind and Scholl thought for a solid minute before tossing in a call.
Hinkle led out for 2,700 on the flop, Scholl called, and the dealer burned and turned the . Hinkle bet again, this time 5,300, and Scholl woke up with a raise to 15,200. Hinkle insta-mucked and Scholl tabled .
Bob Chow, who was seated at the table, seemed amused. "One for the older generaton," he said as Scholl smiled and stacked his chips.
