PokerNews is on site at the Ameristar St. Charles for the latest World Series of Poker Circuit stop, and while we’re only doing live updates from the $1,700 Main Event, it’s not the only tournament that’s been playing out inside the casino.

For the past week, a slew of side events has taken place and awarded gold rings to the lucky winners. One such tournament was Event #6: $400 NLH Bounty, which drew 160 runners and had a $36,800 prize pool.

Among those to cash but fall short of making the final table were Jason Tang (10th - $638), Zach Hudson (15th - $542), and Heather Alcorn (18th - $474), just to name a few.

Chris Parsley, a 59-year-old retiree from Caseyville, Illinois, ultimately came out on top to collect $9,634 and his first gold ring.

“You just got to be patient and just hope that the cards fall your way. That’s all you can do, especially heads up. It’s just a lot of luck involved,” Parsley said, touching on the dynamic of playing for 14 hours.

“I usually play once a week and that’s all I play is tournaments,” Parsley added. “I love it. I love the WSOP stage. I go out to Vegas every year and play.”
