Schinco Takes One Down

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante
Kim Schinco
Kim Schinco

Kim Schinco raised to 500 from middle position, and the big blind, who had a 500 chip out for his blind, called, saying, "Well, it's already out there," with a laugh.

The big blind checked the {8-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop to Schinco, who bet 600. The big blind called.

The {6-Hearts} fell on the turn, and the big blind led out for 1,000. Schinco called.

On the {q-Diamonds} river, the big blind checked, and Schinco bet 3,000. The big blind folded.

Whittington Takes From Emerson

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante
Blake Whittington
Blake Whittington

Eric Emerson checked a {j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Spades} board from the big blind over to five-time WSOPC ring winner Blake Whittington in the hijack, who bet 1,100 into a pot of 1,800.

"You bet because you don't have any showdown?" Emerson asked Whittington, who didn't respond. Emerson eventually made the call, and Whittington tabled {a-Hearts}{j-Spades} for jacks-up.

"Winner," Emerson told Whittington. "Nice hand."

Martin Ryan in Day 1a action

A player raised to 300 from middle position, and nine-time WSOPC ring winner Martin Ryan, who held the chip lead for much of the early going in yesterday's Day 1a flight, three-bet to 1,300 from the cutoff. Action folded back to the middle position player, who called.

The middle position player checked a {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop to Ryan, who bet 2,500. The middle position player folded, and Ryan scooped up the pot.
