Lee Gets Paid on the River

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

On a board reading {9-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{q-Spades}{3-Spades} Jimmy Lee bet 46,000 into a pot of 120,000.The action was now on Michael Rossitto in the small blind and he thought for several minutes before putting in the chips to call.

Jimmy Lee: {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Lee tabled a flopped flush to take down the pot. Rossitto was left with just 60,000 and the action is still hand for hand on the bubble.

Hyon Kim Bubbles In Blind Vs Blind Cooler

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Hyon Kim
Hyon Kim

Hyon Kim open-jammed for roughly 70,000 from the small blind and was called by chip leader Adam Owen from the big.

Hyon Kim: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Adam Owen: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Kim picked up a premium hand but at the wrong time as Owen held a better one and the {6-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{a-Spades} runout ended Kim's tournament on the bubble.

Haresh Thaker Wins Event #2: $400 No-Limit Hold'em

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Haresh Thaker

While PokerNews is here offering live updates from the Main Event and High Roller, we’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you about the full schedule of side events that have been playing out over the past week at the World Series of Poker Circuit Harrah's Las Vegas.

In Event #2: $400 NLH, 219 runners created a $75,000 prize pool that was paid out to the top 34 players. Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Michael Hanelin (11th - $1,243), Mike Shin (17th - $904), Jason Seitz (20th - $797), Arkadiy Tsinis (27th - $668), and Melissa Bryne (33rd - $604).

In the end, it was United Kingdom native Haresh Thaker who collected every chip in play to capture his first ring along with a $17,520 payday.

Thaker survived a final table that included five-time WSOP Circuit ring winner Steve Foutty and he also survived a grueling three-handed battle against Jaime Edmondson Longoria and Ryan Dodd that lasted more than two hours long.

Thaker's only other career World Series of Poker cash came in 2014 when he finished in 8th place and just two spots shy of the final table in the $1,500 10-Game Mix 6-Handed event at the World Series of Poker at the Rio.

As soon as Thaker was pushed the final winning pot, he max late-registered in Event #3: $600 No-Limit Hold'em to try to keep his winning momentum going. Event #3 also missed its guarantee by a few thousand dollars.

Graner Eliminates Gochoco

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Justin Gochoco moved all in for his last 57,000 from the hijack Asher Conniff called from the cutoff and Stephen Graner moved all in over the top on the button. Conniff took some time before he eventually sent his hand into the muck.

Stephen Graner: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Justin Gochoco: {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

There was an ace in the window, but the {a-Spades}{6-Hearts}{k-Hearts} flop also gave Graner a set. The {7-Diamonds} turn gave Gochoco just two outs headed to a river card and he was unable to hit it as the {q-Spades} completed the board.
