Nat Bets River, Gets Fold, Exhales

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Facing an open raise and a call, Arish Nat three-bet from the small blind, and got a call from the hijack.

Nat continuation bet for 20,000 on the {a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} flop, and the hijack called. Both players then checked the {j-Hearts} turn.

The river came {5-Clubs}, Nat bet 65,000, and the opponent folded. Nat let out a pronounced exhale, then collected his chips.

The opening flight of the World Series of Poker Circuit Harveys Tahoe $1,700 Main Event is a wrap! A total of 157 entries made it to the Harveys Tahoe poker room in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, for the first of two Day 1 flights in the centerpiece event of this WSOPC series, and played down to 26 players.

At the end of the night, it was Bryant Miller bagging the biggest stack, finishing the night with 424,000. Closely following on the chip leaderboard are Cezer Boylan (317,000), Wendy Freedman (306,000), and Arish Nat (290,000).

The 26 surviving players from Day 1a will come back Sunday, and join the survivors of Saturday's Day 1b flight in a combined field for Day 2.

Other notable players putting chips in a bag at the end of Day 1a include Kyle Cartwright (259,000), Brad Miller (253,000), Rickey Evans (235,000), and Giuseppe Pantaleo (215,000).

Some of the notables playing on Day 1a, but not making it through, included Scott Sanders, the defending champion in this event. Other big names coming through Harveys on Day 1a, but not making it to the end of the night, included JC Tran, Aram Zobian, Sam Cosby,Ian Steinman, Lee Markholt, Brett Murray and Vanessa Kade.

All of those names are eligible to fire another bullet and enter the Day 1b flight, as the WSOPC Harveys Tahoe Main Event allows one entry and re-entry per flight.

Day 1a play ended with no time remaining in Level 15, as the original field of 157 had trimmed down to 26 players, or 16 percent of the field. Day 1b will operate under the same rules, with play ending when 16 percent of the field remains, or at the end of Level 16, whichever comes first.

Follow along with the PokerNews live reporting team, as Day 1b of the Main Event commences at 11 a.m. Saturday.
