Day 2 of the WSOPC Planet Hollywood $1,700 Main Event Starts at Noon

Welcome to Day 2 of the World Series of Poker Circuit Planet Hollywood $1,700 Main Event.

The two opening flights attracted a field of 778 but only 155 of them will return to the tournament area at noon local time to continue to battle it out.

Leading the way heading into Day 2 is Day 1a chip Leader Tim McDermott with a stack of 392,000. He is followed by Sohale Khalili (382,000) and David Towson rounds up the top three with a stack of 357,000.

Other big names still in contention include bracelet winners Kevin Song (310,000), Giuseppe Pantaleo (292,000), David Miscikowski (248,500), Jeff Madsen (210,500), and Ryan Laplante (200,000).

Day 2 will play through ten 60-minute levels, with a 15-minute break after every two levels, and a 60-minute dinner break at the completion of Level 21. Action will resume at Level 16 which features a small blind of 2,000, big blind of 4,000 with a 4,000 big blind ante.

Jim Carroll limped under the gun along with the player on the button and Jeff Madsen in the small blind. The big blind checked.

The dealer spread a flop of {7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Madsen and the big blind checked. Carroll bet 12,000 and the button and Madsen called but the big blind folded.

The turn came the {3-Diamonds} and this time, Madsen led out with a bet of 27,500. Carroll called but the button folded.

The {q-Spades} completed the board and Madsen bet 68,500. Carroll thought for a long while, then moved all in for 159,000. Madsen, with less behind made the call and tabled {a-Spades}{4-Hearts} for a wheel, but that wasn't good enough as Carroll revealed {6-Spades}{4-Spades} for a seven-high straight to win the pot, eliminating Madsen.
