Lindquist Drags Four-Way Pot

Level 5 : 200/300, 300 ante

Chad Holloway opened to 800 in middle position, David McDermott called on the button, David Lindquist called in the small blind, and Dan Bunce called in the big blind.

All four players checked the {6-Hearts}{j-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop.

Lindquist bet 1,200 on the {j-Clubs} turn, Bunce called, Holloway folded, and McDermott called.

All three remaining players checked the {9-Hearts} river, and Lindquist's {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades} was the winner.

Moses Hits River, Doubles Through Pappas

Level 5 : 200/300, 300 ante

Facing an under-the-gun open to 800, David Moses called, two other players called, and George Pappas squeezed to 5,800 from the small blind. Only Moses called.

The flop came {7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}, and Pappas bet 6,900, Moses reraised all in for 27,500, and got a call from Pappas.

David Moses: {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}
George Pappas: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Moses was drawing extremely thin with his tournament life on the line, and the turn brought no help with the {8-Diamonds} hitting the board. The river {4-Clubs}, however, brought in a set of fours, and Moses got the double.

Capretta Ousts Bunce

Level 5 : 200/300, 300 ante
Tim Capretta
Tim Capretta

With {9-Spades}{q-Clubs}{j-Spades} on the board, Dan Bunce bet 3,500 from the big blind, Tim Capretta raised to 8,200, Bunce jammed, and Capretta made the call, with Bunce covered.

Dan Bunce: {q-Spades}{4-Spades}
Tim Capretta: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

Bunce's hand was ahead on the flop and through the {6-Hearts} turn, but the {5-Spades} river brought in an ace-high flush for Capretta, and rendered Bunce's queen-high flush the loser.

Capretta now sits on 80k in chips, with Bunce eliminated.

Retired Firefighter and Panoramic Photographer Wins First Circuit Ring In Bounty Tournament

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante
Brad LaPayne
Brad LaPayne

While PokerNews is here offering live updates from the High Roller and Main Event we’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you about the full schedule of side events that have been playing out over the past week at the World Series of Poker Circuit Horseshoe Hammond.

In Event #4: $400 NLH Bounty, 233 runners create a $53,590 prize pool that was paid out to the top 35 players. Among those to cash but fall short of the official final table were Lloyd Crisp (10th- $868), Carter Meyers (15th - $724), Frank Maggio (20th - $1,067), Brad Sailor (23rd - $481), Matthew Levin (29th - $413) and John Sun (31st- $397).

In the end, it was Illinois native Brad LaPayne who collected every chip in play to win his first gold ring along with a $12,685 payday.

“I don’t really go out and play much poker,” LaPayne stated. “I normally just play on Monday nights with around 10 to 40 people, but I’ve only traveled to the series over the summer a few times.”

LaPayne’s lack of hitting the felt may have something to do with the 25 years he put into being a full-time firefighter while working as a panoramic photographer on his days off for the past 15 years.

The non-stop work life for the past 15 years has been a blessing for the 65-year old retiree, as his hard work and dedication took him to the top stages of the sports world as LaPayne states, “I rose to a level in the photography world that amazed even myself.”

Picking up his second job as a panoramic photographer lead to dream gigs for many, as he has shot 10 NFL Super Bowls, 12 NBA Finals, 8 MLB World Series and lots of PGA.

LaPayne has took his hard work/dedication to the felt, achieving his largest victory in his first WSOPC final table, earning his first ring and he hopes to continue his success.

“My wife reluctantly lets me play,” LaPayne stated with a smile on his face.

“When you look at it from perspective, I haven’t made too much money playing but I’ll take the day off tomorrow to go home and give my wife some money... then I’ll be back out here.”
