WSOP bracelet winner Andres "chokitin" Korn has now added a Ring to his jewelry box. It took just over 10 hours to make his way through the starting field of 1,545 entries to the top of the podium and the top prize of more than $163,000 was the biggest share of the $1,174,200 in total prizes in Event #8: $800 Deepstack No Limit Hold'em Championship.

Korn is no stranger to big wins or big trophies. In 2017, he scored his biggest live win on the biggest stage there is, the World Series of Poker. He won Event #56 that year for his first Bracelet and more than $600,000. Over his live career he's racked up more than $2 million in earnings.

The Day's Action

A total of 1,545 entries showed up for this one by the time registration closed, which helped boost the $1 million guarantee to $1,174,200. There were 560 players still in the action when registration closed.

It took around an hour to play down to the money bubble at 225 players. "eungtae" was the unfortunate player to bust on the bubble, and it didn't take long to winnow the field from there.

By the next break, there were fewer than 100 players left in the game, but among them was GGPoker GGSquad member Kevin Martin. He made another deep run in a Ring event, but couldn't quite finish it out, ending his day in 21st place for nearly $6,500.

Katie Lindsay
Katie Lindsay, 9th in Event #8

It took about two more hours to hit the final table, as Eder "BlueMoon" Campana bubbled the final nine after running a suited ace into pocket kings. One player who did survive to the final nine was Katie "ShantayUStay" Lindsay. She made the final table with a decent stack, but ran into ace-queen when she shoved her big blind with king-jack, and ended in 9th place.

They played down to five handed pretty quickly, then stalled for nearly five levels before Gabriel Schroeder's elimination in 5th started a cavalcade. Two more quick eliminations followed to set up heads up play between Korn and Yannick "ProbierEs" Schumacher.

They only played heads up for three hands with Schumacher starting HU in the lead. The biggest hand was the second hand in when Korn took a huge lead after his ace-high held against king-queen for Schumacher. Korn was at risk, but doubled to leave Schumacher short. His money went in the next hand, and Korn won it when king-high held.

Second place was worth $122,524 for Schumacher, while Korn bagged more than $163,000 for the win. Perhaps more important, his new ring will make a nice ensemble with his 2017 bracelet.

Heads up lasted three hands. The big chip-change happened on the second last hand, when Andres "chokitin" Korn was in at risk with ace-six against king-queen for Yannick "ProbierEs" Schumacher. The ace held to give Korn a huge chip lead. and the very next hand Schumacher got ten-nine in against king-queen suited and couldn't hold, despite flopping a straight draw.

Andres "chokitin" Korn shoved under the gun, and Rafi "CheckYoMama" Elharar called with slightly less. Korn had a suited jack-ten, but Elharar was ahead with suited king-queen. It all looked good for Elharar until the river jack sent him to the rail in 3rd place.
