Niklas Astedt

Online poker legend Niklas Astedt could have yet another big win waiting for him next Saturday as he will head into the final table of the WSOP Super Circuit Online Series Event #18: $525 Main Event at GGPoker with a chip leading stack of 149,037,043.

Astedt needs no introduction as he has been ranked number one in the world at PocketFives over several long periods with the site crediting the Swedish superstar more than $22 million in online tournament cashes. Even more amazing is that he doesn't have his GGPoker screenname listed on his profile where he has won more than $10 million according to GGPoker's PokerCraft.

Meanwhile, fans of GGPokerSquad member and Twitch streamer Patrick "Egption" Tardif should be please as he advanced to the final table with a sixth-place stack of 60,713,588. Tardif is also the only player at the final table that sold action of himself via the GG staking feature with five investors sharing 20 percent of Tardif's eventual haul.

Other notable players at the final table include Yanfei "aoteman1888" Chi (second - 104,740), Fabian Spielmann (fourth - $93,472,602), Allan "Freedom35" Mello (seventh - 48,840,768), and David Miscikowski (ninth - 28,070,997).

The tournament itself was a huge success with 14,496 entries generating a massive $7,248,000 prize pool to smash the event's lofty $5 million guarantee.

While Tardif easily outperformed all of the GGPokerSquad, something similar can be said about Anatoly Filatov, whose 826th place finish for $1,759 was best among the GGPoker Ambassadors.

The day ended just before what would have been the ninth break of the day when "diciccoboss" finished in 10th place for $30,473 when their ace-six didn't get there against Allan "Freedom35" Mello's big slick.

Final Table Schedule & Payouts

The Main Event will go on a six-day break with the final table scheduled to begin on Saturday, June 5 at 6 p.m. GMT (1 p.m. EDT). PokerNews will be reporting the action on at least a 30-minute delay as to not give away any spoilers with GGPoker.tv live broadcasting the event with hole cards shown.

Mello Takes Out Two with Cowboys

Level 21 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante

"absinttiivaa" opened for 800,000 from early position and Allan "Freedom35" Mello called from one seat over. "minterofbtc" three-bet to 5,470,272 from the small blind leaving just 200,000 behind. Pavel "EzzzGame" Plesuv four-bet shoved for 9,267,844. "absinttiivaa" folded, Mello called, and "minterofbtc" committed the rest of their stack as well.

minterofbtc: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Pavel "EzzzGame" Plesuv: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Allan "Freedom35" Mello: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Mello was ahead and didn't need to improve to win the hand. This didn't matter as the {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} board gave him a set and he eliminated two players while winning a massive pot.

"DinhoDibre10" First Over 30 Million with Quad Aces

Level 20 : 175,000/350,000, 45,000 ante

"DinhoDibre10" opened for 1,008,000 from the small blind and "allini" called from the big blind.

Both players checked the {3-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop before "DinhoDibre10" check-called for 1,188,000 the {a-Diamonds} turn. The {a-Spades} river completed the board and "DinhoDibre10" check-raised from 2,250,000 to 4,500,000. "allini" called and turned over {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a full house. This wasn't nearly good enough and "DinhoDibre10" extended their chip lead with quads turning over {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

Pavel "EzzzGame" Plesuv: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

"BabyFade" opened to 100,000 from under the gun. Katie "ShantayUStay" Lindsay three-bet to 300,000 from one seat over. "BabyFade" jammed for 2,906,774 and the new chip leader would be determined by whomever won this pot after Lindsay called off for 2,811,059.

Muehloecker Eliminates Urbanovich

Level 9 : 25,000/50,000, 6,000 ante

Dzmitry Urbanovich appeared to be on a roll for a while but is suddenly on the rail.

Urbanovich opened for 100,000 from the hijack. Thomas Muehloecker three-bet to 275,000 from the button. Urbanovich four-bet shoved for 1,334,055 and Muehloecker called.

Dzmitry Urbanovich: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Thomas Muehloecker: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

Muehloecker's ace connected with the {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs} board to give him a better two pair than Urbanovich, who was eliminated in 507th place for $2,596.

"ElkY" Gets Aces Cracked

Level 1 : 6,000/12,000, 1,500 ante

"leon9" jammed the button for 157,059 before Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier jammed slightly more from the small blind. The player in the big blind folded and the duo showed their cards.

leon9: {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

Grospellier's aces were cracked and he was left short on chips after the {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{j-Clubs} board gave "leon9" two pair.

A short while later, Grospellier got his less than one big blind in good with {a-}{6-} but didn't hold against an opponent's {q-}{10-}.
