Annunziata Loses It All to Amelipour

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Ali Amelipour
Ali Amelipour

Heads-up to the {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Clubs} turn, Armando Annunziata in the small blind still had some 70,000 at his disposal when he bet and then faced the shove by a bigger-stacked Ali Amelipour. The Italian called it off and the following cards were turned over.

Armando Annunziata: {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Ali Amelipour: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

"Ciao ciao," Annunziata already said as he was drawing dead to the flush of Amelipour, which made the {4-Hearts} river a formality.

Yildiz Busts "Kelmaison"

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

As promised, the Belgian "Kelmaison" got it in with his shorter stack and it was quite obvious that his opponent would be Ferhat Yildiz.

"You are behind, of course, but not on the river," he joked as he rolled over the {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}. Yildiz only had {q-Clubs}{j-Spades} but got there on the {j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} board to claim the rest of it and cause even more laughter.

Daffina Bombs the River

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Claudio Daffina
Claudio Daffina

Claudio Daffina bet the {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop for 5,000 and earned calls from Moncef Karoui and Ilija Savevski. On the {10-Clubs} turn, Dafina bet another 11,000 to get called by Savevski only and then fired a hefty bet of 85,000 for all his orange chips on the {3-Spades} river. Savevski snap-folded the {j-Hearts} to surrender.

Climate Change Favours Tantillo

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Fausto Tantillo
Fausto Tantillo

Around 25,000 were in the middle as three players headed to the {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop. The action checked to Fausto Tantillo on the button and he bet 11,000. Lukas Klima check-raised to 25,000 in the big blind to force out the third player and Tantillo clicked it back to 42,500.

Klima shipped it in for around 60,000 with the {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} only to get snapped off by Tantillo with the {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}. There was no miracle escape for the Czech as two blanks later, he was on the rail.

Hegner Joins the Big Stacks

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Gordon Hegner
Gordon Hegner

Yet another three-way flop of {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{q-Spades} with some 55,000 already in the pot, Laviniu David checked and Gordon Hegner bet 30,000. Nasredine Talah moved all-in and David folded while big stack Hegner called.

Nasredine Talah: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Gordon Hegner: {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Talah's hopes for the board to pair went blank as the {4-Diamonds} turn and {3-Diamonds} river completed the runout.

David Doubles Through Navon

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Laviniu David
Laviniu David

In the last hand before the break, Afik Navon checked his option on the {j-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop and Laviniu David in the cutoff bet 28,500 for nearly the size of the pot. Navon called and then checked again the {9-Hearts} on the turn. David instantly jammed and Navon asked for a count.

The shove was for 97,700 and Navon apologised in advance for potentially taking a few minutes. Ultimately, he called with the superior stack.

Laviniu David: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Afik Navon: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}

The river was the {k-Spades} as David further improved to a set. "You didn't believe me, huh?" he inquired before they had gone into the break.
