Aussie pro Damien Oborne just took down a decent pot and eliminated an opponent in the process. Two players had limped into the pot before the action folded around to Oborne, who looked down at pocket queens. Damien opted to raise it up to 8,000, which prompted one of the limpers to fold. The other, however, shoved his remaining 30,000 into the middle on the strength of A-K and Oborne made the call.
Oborne's queens were safe after the flop, which came 9-10-4, but a king on the turn left him drawing to a jack for a straight or one of the two remaining queens in the deck. Amazingly, Oborne spiked a lucky lady on the river for a set, eliminating his opponent from the tournament.
Oborne stacked up just under 120,000 in chips after the hand.
Ray Henson and Damien Oborne got it all in preflop, each of them tabling a pocket pair of aces. While most everyone at the table anticipated a split pot, there's always that slight chance that one of the players could make a four-card flush and that's almost what happened on this hand.
The flop brought three diamonds, giving Henson -- who held the ace of diamonds -- a free roll for a flush draw. Henson stood up out of his chair at the sight of the flop and yelled out, "I'm so free rolling right now! Come on, diamond!"
In a most anti-climactic way, the turn and river blanked out two non-diamond baby cards and the pot was divided in two.
