Big Pot for Jachtmann

Level 7 : 300/600, 0 ante

Jan-Peter Jachtmann called a raise by Hannes Scholz on the button, sitting in the hijack seat himself, and they saw a flop of {A-}{2-}{3-} rainbow. Jachtmann raised from 1,800 to 5,100 and was called before his opponent checked the {10-Spades} turn. Jachtmann fired the pot for 14,600 and was called with the {4-Hearts} making an appearance on the river.

Again Scholz check-called for 20,000 and then mucked when he was shown {A-Spades}{5-Spades}{Q-}{K-} for a straight.

Leon Tsoukernik Plays Two Hands; Busts

Level 7 : 300/600, 0 ante
Leon Tsoukernik
Leon Tsoukernik

Leon Tsoukernik had just entered the competition and sat down. He raised the pot in the first hand and Benedikt Feige reraised to put himself at risk for the last 17,000 chips with the {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}. Tsoukernik was ahead with {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} but the board ran out {7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} to give Feige a flush.

Exactly one hand later, Hannes Scholz got his stack in preflop along with Tsoukernik and Jachtmann looked them both up.

Tsoukernik: {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Jachtmann: {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Scholz: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Spades}

The board {4-Spades}{K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs} gave Scholz a triple up and Tsoukernik hit the rail with slightly less chips than the German.

Two More Levels for Tonight

Level 8 : 400/800, 0 ante

The guarantee of €100,000 is almost reached with now 31 entries and two more levels are scheduled before the players get to bag and tag their chips for Day 2. However, the reentry option and late registration is available until the first card is dealt tomorrow and this may still change the total prizes up for grabs.

"How Much do you Have?"

Level 8 : 400/800, 0 ante

Florian Langmann raised and then Thomas Bichon reraised the pot to 8,800, receiving a call from his table neighbor and fellow big stack. The flop came {6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Langmann folded to a pot-sized bet of Bichon, the Frenchman showed him the {7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. Both players teased each other, asking back and forth "how much do you have?" and ultimately counted their stacks to find out that Bichon had 8,000 more.

"Oh, that's the 8,000 you just stole from me," Langmann joked.

Kyriakides Shows an Ace

Level 8 : 400/800, 0 ante

Jesper Hougaard defended his big blind against the raise of Miltiadis Kyriakides and check-called a bet of 5,000 on the {3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{J-Spades} turn before the {A-Hearts} fell on the river. Hougaard checked once again and Kyriakides then bet 10,000 to enforce a fold from his opponent. The Greek offered to show two cards and Hougaard more or less picked some to have Kyriakides flip over {A-Spades}{7-Diamonds}.

Scholz Flips a Coin Against Feige

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Benedikt Feige raised from under the gun and was called by Jan-Peter Jachtmann, Roman Cieslik on the button as well as Dimitri Holdeew in the small blind. Hannes Scholz then raised the pot and Feige shoved to receive a call from Scholz only for around 22,000 in chips.

Scholz: {J-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Feige: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{J-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

The flop came {10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{2-} and gave Scholz a flush draw while a blank {J-} on the turn changed nothing. The {8-Clubs} river however completed the flush for Scholz and he doubled up in a crucial spot.

Jachtmann on the Rise

Level 8 : 400/800, 0 ante

Jan-Peter Jachtmann was the initial raiser from early position and Roman Cieslik stayed in the pot to see a flop of {9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}. Jachtmann checked and Cieslik bet 3,000 from the button to receive a call. Jachtmann then bet the {10-Diamonds} turn for 5,000 and Cieslik called before the {6-Hearts} river completed the board.

Jachtmann bet 12,000 and that enforced a fold from Cieslik.

Plum Busts to Jachtmann

Level 8 : 400/800, 0 ante
Mikkel Plum
Mikkel Plum

Mikkel Plum was already heading out of the tournament area as second Dane to hit the rail today and the chips went to Jan-Peter Jachtmann. The 2012 World Series of Poker Pot-Limit Omaha champion has become a chip magnet as of lately and also knocked out Plum after defending his big blind with the {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-}{10-}.

Jachtmann check-raised the flop and Plum got his remaining short stack in with queens and tens only to find himself up against a set of eights. Neither turn nor river brought any miracle and the Dane was done a bit early on Day 1.
