Event #13: COLOSSUS $2M Gtd

Day 1 Started

Day 2 is a Colossus

Sunday means more ring events at the 2020 GGPoker WSOP Online Super Circuit, and its a big day. In addition to Event #12: Monster Stack $500K Gtd already underway, players will also get their chance at another ring in Event #13: COLOSSUS $2M Gtd. The Colossus is the 13th of 18 ring events over the month of May in the Online version of the Online Super Circuit, held online at GGPoker for the first time in response to the unprecedented global situation.

Action on Event 13 is already a day old, as several Day 1s played out Saturday and Sunday morning to feed into today's Day 2. At present, a total of 8,776 entries have been recorded for Day 2, with some Day 1s still playing. The $2 million guarantee has already been left in the past, with a total prize pool now of close to $3.5 million. Right now there are 1,135 players with chips still waiting to start Day 2, with at least one more Day 1 yet to complete.

The Day 1 of this tournament gave players 50,000 chips to play 13 minute levels. On Day 2, they will play 15 min levels until the final nine players, at which point it will switch to the GGPoker standard of blind increases every 30 hands for final table play. Currently the top stack going into Day 2 is Canadian "Endboss22" with 2.3M chips, and the top five stacks are all stacking more than 1 million chips. Among the other players to secure a seat in Day 2 already are Rodrigo "BlaireauEnColere" Seiji, Sergey Rybachenko, "Luizftorres14", "NikkyMouse", Rafael "RafaelmoraesGM" Moraes, and Mikhail Semin, among others.

Stay tuned here at PokerNews for action throughout Day 2 until they put a new ring on someone's finger.

Cards Are in the Air for Day 2 of Event #13

Level 1 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Action is now underway in Event #13, and the total entries were 9,603 with 1,424 players still sitting with chips. That means a total of 1,196 players will get paid, so it will be a mad dash to the payouts. It also means the prize pool blew past $3.5 million to settle in at $3,649,140 to play for. Minimum cashers will get $950, while the winner is expected to take home $499,339.

Nothing has changed at the top of the chip counts, with Canadian "Endboss22" still the only player going into Day 2 with more than 2 million chips.

"Endboss22" Wastes No Time Chipping Up

Level 1 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

In the very first hand of play, "Endboss22" raised to 30,000 from the middle, and "Zimmermannshammer" raised to 88,000 from the small blind. "Endboss22" called and the flop came {5-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}.

After a check, "Endboss22" bet 60,000 and "Zimmermannshammer" made the call to see {2-Hearts} on the river. The small blind again checked, and "Endboss22" bet 120,000.

"Zimmermannshammer" called and they both checked the {9-Spades} river.

"Zimmermannshammer": {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
"Endboss22": {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Board: {5-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades}

"Endboss22" hit a five on the flop and that was all they needed to increase their chip lead in the first hand of Day 2.

"MygameMyrules" Chips Up with Knockout

Level 2 : 6,000/12,000, 1,200 ante

"MygameMyrules" opened to 24,000 from under the gun before "SooDue" shoved the button for 305,756. "MygameMyrules" called.

"MygameMyrules": {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
"SooDue": {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

Board: {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}

"SooDue" was in with the best of it, but "MygameMyrules" hit a queen on the flop and that was all they needed.
