Comic Interlude

Some commotion broke out on table 55, regarding a pot that was pushed to the wrong player.

Davidson Matthew was rather upset, and Josh Arieh, sitting next to him, said "There's no reason to yell." Matthew responded with, "I'm ****** pissed."

Layne Flack then jumped in in support of Matthew, saying, "that's a good reason. I've already used it twice today."

While the floorperson was trying to sort out the issue, Steve Zolotow cracked, "the pot goes to the guy who shouts the loudest."

In the end, it was an animated Layne Flack who sorted out the pot; mind you, he's got two empty beer cups in front of him, right next to one that is completely full. Robert Mizrachi, who was listening in from a neighboring table, added "you should've been a floorman, Layne."

In response, Layne said: "Floorman? This ****'s easy!"

Table 37 Is Loaded

Earlier we reported on some minor tomfoolery going on at table 37, involving Doyle Brunson, Chris Ferguson, and a fart machine.

The real story from that table is the compilation of talent gathered there. Bill Edler, who has enjoyed immense success on the tournament circuit this year, has now taken a seat to the right of Ferguson.

John Juanda, Doyle, Jesus, and Bill have combined for an estimated $19 million dollars in prize money in tournaments alone.

All Quiet on the Home Front

It's relatively quiet in the Amazon Room today (with the exception of table 55, where Layne Flack is sitting).

The 10,000-chip starting stacks explain the minor fluctuations in chip stacks thus far. After the dinner break, the pots will start getting much bigger.

Layne Flack Eliminated

Just before the break, Layne was eliminated on a hand of Razz, when his opponent's 9-8 low bested Layne's 10-6 low.

On his way out of the tournament area, Layne said, "well, now I gotta go borrow 5K." Davidson Matthew replied, "Well, I'm next. I got a donkey to the right and left of me." The player to his right is the one who busted Layne, and the player to his left is Josh Arieh.

As far as we know, Layne was the first player eliminated from the event.
