A One-of-a-Kind Atmosphere

This type of event brings out a side rarely seen from most of these players. When you put so much talent at a single table, there is often a clash in the inevitable quest for dominance. The players that are in the habit of flexing their poker muscles at a table full of dead money have a little tougher time when their table is packed with the elite.

Let The Prop Bets Begin

It seems that Barry Greenstein and Darrell "Gigabet" Dicken have a side bet that involves making the money. We'll keep the specifics private, but even Greenstein concedes that Gigabet has the edge. "You're on Mike's (Matusow) left..." said the always mellow Greenstein. "You don't know what a huge edge that is!"

"You gotta love Barry," playfully chirped Matusow.

Ivey Looking For Action

"What price would you give me on making the final table?" Phil Ivey asked Mike Sexton. Ivey persisted, "Who would you rather lose it to, Doyle or me? I won't sit on it. The next day you'll have a chance to win it back."

More Money Than Brains?

A P.A. announcement was just overheard stating the following: "If you're bored and looking for something to do today, head over to the cashier's cage and put up $50,000 to play in today's H.O.R.S.E. event. There's about 24 minutes remaining for registration and it looks like a pretty easy field...." This got mild laughs from both the spectators and the players.

A H.O.R.S.E. of a Different Color

This is a very unique type of structure. Each level (one of the 'H.O.R.S.E.' games, ever-rotating) is played for 30 minutes. Rounds will be posted in blue, and the levels, plus each level's given game and structure, will be in the text.

A Fitting Nickname

Several of the players here are showcasing their unique personalities, none moreso than Mike "The Mouth" Matusow. Perhaps marketing himself to the sea of spectators, we can't go more than a minute or two without hearing Matusow stand up and yell something that has nothing to do with poker....but I guess that's why he's "The Mouth."

Brunson Seat Change

When Todd Brunson strolled in, he realized he was assigned to the same table as his father Doyle. To remove any concerns, the Brunsons thought it best for Todd to get reassigned. Todd doesn't exactly love his new draw, though, as he was relocated to Phil Ivey's left.

Girl Power!

Today's field features just seven women. Annie Duke, Isabelle Mercier, Maureen Feduniak, Jerri Thomas, Kristy Gazes, Jennifer Harman Traniello and Cyndy Violette all have their eye on this coveted title.
