Allen Kessler Eliminated

Allen Kessler Eliminated
Allen Kessler Eliminated
Kessler was all in preflop against his opponent holding the best hand in poker {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}. His opponent also had a good starting hand, {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}, which looked a lot better to him when the flop came {J-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}. The turn card {4-Spades} removed some of Kessler's outs and the river card was the cruelest card possible, the {A-Spades}. Kessler had hit top set but was beaten by his opponent's flush.

Liz Lieu Doubles

Board:
{10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{9-Spades}

Preflop, a player on the button raises to 1,600 and Liz Lieu re-raises to 4,000 in the small blind. The button calls. On the flop, Lieu is all in for 6,825 and the button calls again. Lieu has {A-Spades}{K-Spades} and the button has {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Lieu gets her chips in bad, but doubles up thanks to a king on the turn. She's at 22,500.

Terrence Chan Eliminated

Chan raised to 1,500 UTG. One player called. Big blind re-raised to 4,500. Chan called and other player folded. The flop was {5-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}. Big blind fired out 10K. Chan called. The turn was the {6-Spades}. Big blind moved all in for 37K. Chan counted out his chips.

"You can have me so crushed," he said as he went into the tank for three minutes before he called.

His opponent showed {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and Chan groaned. Chan flipped over {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}. The river was a blank and Chan slipped to under 4K.

On the very next hand, Chan was eliminated.

Ray Romano Eliminated

Ray Romano
Ray Romano
Board: {5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

A player under the gun limps in. Ray Romano in middle position makes it 2,600. The button re-raises to 7,000 and UTG calls. Romano three-bets it all in for 1,275 more and both call. On the flop, UTG checks on the side and the button bets 16,000. UTG folds.

After three cameras show up to watch Romano's all in, he asks "Is Paris Hilton behind me?"

Romano has {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and the button has {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}. Romano gets no help and is done.

Romano stops by Brad Garrett's table after he busts. "Do you want to pay me that side bet now?" Garrett says.

"Have you guys all seen Brad's show?" Romano says. "Better hurry!"

Black Takes a Small Hit

Andy Black was first to act and checked the {Q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts} board. A player in early position behind Black checked as well, and a third player in the hand made it 4,000 to go. Black made the call, after which the early position player moved all-in over the top for a total of 10,200. The original bettor called, as did Black, creating a heads-up sidepot.

The turn brought the {2-Spades} and both Black and his opponent opted to see a free river.

The last card off the deck was the {5-Diamonds} and Black fired out a 5,000 bet; his opponent called.

The side pot was settled first and Black showed {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} for top two pair with an Ace kicker, but his opponent showed a pocket pair of Kings to take the side pot. Kings would ultimately be enough to scoop the entire pot, as the player who moved all-in on the flop mucked his cards after he saw the Kings.

Black took a loss on the hand, but is still in fine shape at 120,000 chips.

A Charitable Prop Bet

Ray Romano and Brad Garrett had a $2,000 last longer wager. Garrett won the prop bet and will donate the money to the Maximum Hope Foundation for families with terminally ill children. Everyone wins in this instance. Poker players often get a bad reputation. It's refreshing to see poker utilized as a conduit for charitable causes.

Richardson's Kings Busted on the River

Facing an opponent's 3,000 preflop raise, Adam Richardson reraised, making it 9,000 to go; his opponent called.

The flop came {8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Richardson's opponent moved all-in for her last 5,000. Richardson called and flipped over pocket Kings; his opponent showed pocket Jacks.

The turn brought a harmless {9-Spades}, but the {J-Diamonds} on the river gave Richardson's opponent the checkmark.

Adam dropped to 90,000 after the hand.
