David Bach Eliminated

David Bach raises preflop, Michael Keiner moves all in with {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}, and Bach calls all in with {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}. But before the flop ever comes out, there is a controversy over whether or not Bach's raise was pulled into the pot, and how Keiner owes to cover Bach in the pot. It takes a while, but things are eventually worked out, and the hand plays out.

The flop comes {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, and Keiner flops a set while Bach has a gutshot straight draw. The turn card is the {2-Clubs}, giving Bach additional outs to a club flush. But the river card pairs the board with the {2-Spades}, giving Keiner a full house to win the pot, and David Bach is eliminated.

Michael Keiner increases his stack to 35,000.

Derek Snyder is Low, But Much Higher Than He Was

Derek Snyder was down to 225 in chips a short while ago, and shortly before the break he was all in for about 3,000 with A-J against another player's A-9. The board came K-8-3-7-A, and Snyder won the pot with his jack kicker to double up.

That still leaves Snyder with a short stack of about 6,000, and the after-dinner blinds will increase to 200-400 (50 ante). But compared to his earlier stack of 225, Snyder must feel he has a mountain of chips in front of him.

Blinds: 200/400

Here Comes the Ante

We've lost 411 players since the start of the day, or about 27 percent of the day's field. Action should certainly accelerate in the post-dinner hours, especially given the introduction of antes to play. While the cost per round in the 200-400 level was 600 per player, that number jumps to 1,100 in this level.

Tom Franklin Doubles Up

Captain Tom Franklin had the kind of restart he was hoping for when he doubled up first hand after the break. He had to do it the hard way too, as his {K-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} was way behind his opponent's {K-Spades}{J-Spades}. However a flop of {4-Spades}{K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} put him in front, the {7-Diamonds} on the turn kept him there and the {2-Spades} on the river meant it was all smooth sailing for the Captain.

Josephy Chipping Up

Cliff Josephy
Cliff Josephy
Cliff Josephy just eliminated an opponent from the tournament with pocket kings, and is fast-approaching the 100K mark for the day. He has right around 90,000 in chips and shows no signs of slowing down.
