Isabelle Mercier Has Been Eliminated

Isabelle Mercier
Isabelle Mercier
Action folded around to Derrell McKee on the button who limped in. Isabelle Mercier moved all in from the big blind and McKee made the call. The players showed...

Mercier: {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}
McKee: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Mercier flopped a pair of fives but that would be the best hand she'd make. McKee's nines were best and Isabelle Mercier was sent to the rail.

From Naval Academy to TV Star

Montel Williams
Montel Williams
One of the players in today's field has led an amazing life. That's Montel Williams. He's wearing a Navy hat that says USS Eisenhower and he definitely has command of his table with 50K in chips. Williams is playing great in his first WSOP Main Event.

Williams graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1980 with a degree in engineering. He spent almost 22 years in military service, most of it as a Naval Intelligence officer. His duties were multifaceted, including intense intelligence work on a nuclear submarine.

Williams studied both Russian and Mandarin Chinese during his time in the service. He served on board the USS Sampson during the U.S. invasion of Grenada. He eventually retired as a Lieutenant Commander and awarded distinctions such as the Navy Expeditionary Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, a Navy Achievement Medal, a Navy Commendation Medal and Meritorious Service Medals. He retired after 22 years' service.

After the service, Williams spent a couple of years as a motivational speaker. He was able to travel around the world and help people. That eventually led to his spot as a host as the Montel Williams Show. His show just finished its 16th season which is remarkable in television. His run has been exceptional.

Montel Williams has been involved with numerous charities over the years including helping to raise money and awareness for multiple sclerosis after he was diagnosed with MS a few years ago. The affliction has not slowed him down.

Montel Talks the Talk and Walks the Walk

Talk show host Montel Williams is proving today that TV is not his only game. Montel made it 800 to go from the cutoff and was raised to 2,500 by the player on the button. Montel then reraised to 6,500 and his opponent made the call.

The flop came {J-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Williams passed the first action to his opponent, who led out with a 5,000 bet. Montel then raised it up to 10,000 and his opponent let go of his hand.

Montel now has 60,000 chips and is playing some solid poker.

Max Pescatori Eliminated

Max Pescatori
Max Pescatori
Max Pescatori moved all in from the big blind after three players had limped into the pot preflop. He was called by a single opponent who turned over A-K; Max showed 10-3 offsuit and with all things considered, wasn't in too bad of shape with two live cards.

Unfortunately for Max, the remaining tens and threes eluded the 9-4-4-6-K board, and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Erik Seidel in Trouble

Erik Seidel has left himself only 3,500 after making a call with {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} on a flop of {5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}. The bet was an all-in from a player with only 2,600 in chips but when the turn and river came {8-Spades}{5-Spades}, Erik's ace high was no match for his opponent's {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}.
