Brian Nadell Eliminated by Amnon Filippi

Most players would welcome pocket kings with open arms while playing in the Main Event at the World Series of Poker, but Brian Nadell had one of those days in which this hand caused him nothing but trouble.

Not long before his elimination hand (below), Nadell picked up pocket kings in the big blind, only to run into the pocket aces of an opponent in the small blind! That hand left Nadell short-stacked and the following hand finished him off.

Once again, Nadell held pocket kings and went over the top of Amnon Filippi's preflop raise, making it 4,000 to go; Amnon called. The flop came {3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Nadell moved all in, but cringed when Amnon called almost immediately and revealed {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}, for top set.

Nadell was unable to catch a third king and was eliminated from the tournament. The elimination brought Filippi up to 50,000 in chips.

Opponent Shakes Down Moneymaker

Board:
{K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

Under the gun and preflop, Chris Moneymaker raises to 1,250 and his opponent in middle position calls. They check the flop. On the turn, Moneymaker bets 1,800 and is called. On the river, Moneymaker checks. The opponent bets 2,000 and Moneymaker folds. He's down to 27,000.

Table 66 Gets Goofy

At Ishak Noyan's and Chris Ferguson's table, the dealer misdeals and Noyan only has a single king. Before they can return the cards and redeal, the table gets a little goofy. They decide to trade cards to improve their hands. Ferguson gives Noyan another king, giving him pocket kings. Somehow, we don't think that's in the TDA rules.

Rafe Furst Climbing Up

One player bet, Rafe Furst raised all in with his last 3,000 and his opponent called. Furst had A-K against A-J. The board came 5-2-3-3-9 and Furst raked in the pot.

On the very next hand, Furst raised 1,700 from under the gun, took down the blinds and antes, and is back up to 7,500.

Chad Brown On The Move

Chad Brown, Amongst The Chipleaders
Chad Brown, Amongst The Chipleaders
Chad has continued his steady rise up the leader board since the dinner break and has currently amassed nearly 110,000 in chips. Despite the fact that he just took a small hit in the following hand. Here's how it went down:

On a {3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop, Chad bet out 2,000 and had one caller.

The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and Chad's 4,000 bet was also called.

The river was the {9-Clubs}. Chad bet out 6,000 and was called down, he showed {K-Diamonds}{3-Spades} while his opponent had {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for better two pair.
