Eric "Rizen" Lynch Has Been Eliminated

In the last hand before the break Eric Lynch raised to 600 from the button and the player in the small blind raised to 2,000. Lynch called and they saw a flop of {J-Spades}{3-Spades}{10-Clubs}. The small blind bet 2,500, Lynch raised to 6,000, and the small blind moved all-in. Lynch had just 5,300 behind and made the call with {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, and found he trailed his opponent's {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}. The {2-Diamonds} on the turn and {8-Spades} on the river did not help his hand and Lynch was eliminated.

Dario Minieri Crosses the 100,000 Mark -- With Six-Deuce

Dario Minieri
Dario Minieri
A player raises to 1,000, Dario Minieri reraises to 4,000, and his opponent calls. The flop comes Q-6-2, Minieri bets 6,500, his opponent moves all in, and Minieri calls with 6-2 for two pair. His opponent shows A-6, and he's dominated.

The last two cards are K-2, and Minieri wins the pot with a full house (deuces full of sixes), busting his opponent and increasing his stack to about 100,000.

A few hands later, Minieri raises, a short stack moves all in with A-4, and Minieri calls with A-A. His aces hold up, and Dario Minieri takes another pot, busts anoter player, and increases his stack to about 104,000.

Tommy Vu Checks on Vinny Vinh

Vinnie Vinh
Vinnie Vinh
Tommy Vu is in a wheelchair today (we're still not sure why), and late in the last level, he rolled over to Vinnie Vinh's table to check up on him. Vu asked how he was doing, and at the time, Vinh had been up in chips before dropping back down to 23,000.

Vu: "What happened to your chips?"

Vinh: "Guy flopped a full house, I had ace-king."

Vinh has repeatedly said that he just wants to go back to sleep. "I wanna go back to sleep. I wanna go back to sleep." He sometimes just lays his head down on the table when he's not in the hand.

His poker doesn't seem too adversely affected right now, as he currently sits with 31,500 in chips.

Fight For Your Right!

Gary Thompson, Robert Wexler, Alfonse D'Amato

During the last level, Nolan Dalla introduced Congressman Robert Wexler to the crowd playing on day 1d of the Main Event. Congressman Wexler has been working with the Poker Players Alliance, specifically President Michael Bolcerek and Chairman and former Senator Alfonse D'Amato, to adjust the UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act) that made it illegal for U.S. banks to complete transactions with online gaming sites. That makes it much harder for Americans to add funds to (and withdraw funds from) their online poker accounts.

If you wish to join Congressman Wexler and the PPA in their fight to get online poker back to the way it used to be, check out www.pokerplayersalliance.org . Membership is free, so poker fans should sign up to join the fight. They also offer information on how to contact your local officials and representatives.

PokerNews Video has scheduled interviews with both Congressman Wexler (today) and Alfonse D'Amato (tomorrow) to discuss the current state of online poker, as well as what we can all do to help. Stay tuned to PokerNews Video to check it out.

Many Paths to Win A Pot

Jeffrey Ury, who at 94 is the oldest player in WSOP history, didn't hear another player announce a raise and only tossed in enough chips for a call. After he was advised how much he needed to call the raise he took the chips from his stack and said, "OK, let's see a flop!"

Which was {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. "Now I've got a hand," Ury said, and announced a 500 bet. But he tossed in a 5,000 chip, and after some discussion the verbal bet was of course binding and the other player in the pot called. Both players checked down the {2-Hearts} on the turn and {Q-Clubs} on the river, and when the other player said that he had a pair Ury announced, "I have a pair, too," and flipped over {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. That hand held up and he now has 21,500 in chips.

Erik Friberg Doubles Up

Erik Friberg
Erik Friberg
Erik Friberg moved all in with a short stack against a player who called with {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}. Friberg slipped over {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. The flop was {K-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Friberg was still behind. The turn was the {8-Hearts} and Friberg picked up a flush draw. The river was the {J-Hearts} and Friberg won the pot. He increased his stack to 11,500.
